Kobe Bryant Promises to Tweet Less in Game 2

He couldn’t help himself, as Kobe Bryant helplessly sat there and watched his Los Angeles Lakers fall in Game 1 against the San Antonio Spurs. Despite repeated pleas to get the ball inside, the Lakers kept bombing away from the outside (and missing.) Head coach Mike D’Antoni wasn’t pleased that reporters pestered him with questions about Kobe’s Twitter feed — calling his best player a “fan” at this point, which a surprised KB took in stride — and Bryant said that he won’t be nearly as active in social media when Game 2 rolls around: “I see my tweeting during the game is being talked about as much as the game itself. Not my intention, just bored [I guess] #notagain”

I hope he doesn’t stop, feel bad for the dude.

Screw D’Antoni, this is Kobe’s team, he could retire today and it’d still be HIS team.

    I enjoy his tweeting.

Wish it would continue. I’ve enjoyed laughing at D’Antoni since he got hired. Would like to continue with Kobe being the one making me laugh at him.

I really didn’t see anything wrong with his tweeting – its not as if the players are actually going to read it and adjust based on tweets. Kobe is a basketball nerd; this is what he does. He helped get the team to this point, or did MAD forget that already?

D’Antoni should step aside and Kobe should coach.

I don’t need to see Kobe’s tweets on ESPN.. so thank you Kobe. #getwell

He can tweet all he wants, just don’t anyone and the media make an issue out of it. I mean, this is the big story out of the first game of the playoffs?

thats dumb… i myself were annoyed with the kobe tweets, but i cant be annoyed at him for tweeting, i was annoyed that commentators and tv networks kept commentating on the tweets . I hope tv networks tell people in charge to lessen posting the kobe tweets during the game, which would minimize discussing it during the game. Keep tweets on twitter, but kobe keep tweeting for your fans

Kobe yelling to get the ball inside is hilarious on so many levels.

D’Antoni’s just insecure because he knows Kobe knows he doesn’t know how to use his players. That “he’s just a fan” thing is something Mike’s trying to convince himself of.

I personally wasn’t annoyed by his tweets but I found myself getting annoyed of the constant coverage his tweets were getting. How about more commentating on the actual game and less focusing on social media? Just a thought.

the tweets were the best part

  • playa

The problem is he can & he does more often than all of his teammates contrary to popular belief so you’re funny&shit but unfortunately off base with your argument

  • The Seed

Kobe tweets were fine, also if Kobe is not playing in the game. LA needs to use the POST, if Kobe is not playing. If Dntoni can’t get the ball to the BIGS with Kobe not playing. Don’t ever blame Kobe again for their weak play. Lakers will be swept. PERIOD!!

Sidekick for 3 championship teams, leader for 2 championship teams…he has done and was still doing this season until the injury.

  • shockexchange

The Shock Exchange notices how Horry Jr tends to do a whole lot when he’s surrounded by “exceptionally more talent than the rest of the L,” otherwise, not so much.
