Danilo Gallinari Says He May Return Sooner from ACL Injury

Denver Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari had some pretty good news for the team’s fans on Friday. Gallo says that doctors discovered that he didn’t tear his left ACL after all, and that despite fears his recovery would take longer than expected, he may return to the court sooner than anyone had previously anticipated. Per the Denver Post: “Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari posted a video on his official Facebook page Friday in Italian, and the video was translated to say that surgery revealed his left ACL wasn’t torn and recovery time will be ‘completely different’ than expected, according to the Italian journalist Davide Chinellato (a writer for Italian La Gazzetta dello Sport who translated Gallo’s video and posted the quotes on Twitter). [...] Chinellato tweeted that Gallo called it ‘great news.’ Here are more tweets from him: ‘#Nuggets Gallinari: ‘I underwent a healing response procedure, in which ligament is stimulated to respond naturally’ … ‘This procedure changes completely my rehab and recovery time. But I’ll inform you later about that.’”

I thought medicine was improving, it took around 6 months to diagnose this injury, surely MRI’s can pick this stuff up earlier. Anyways I’m not a specialist so my opinion is unwarranted. Good to know he should be back soon and doesn’t have to deal with the arduous recovery process. It would be sweet to have a season without any major injuries, alas thats not the nature of the beast.

they probably had to wait for all the swelling to go down before the could see what really happened. the mere fact thaat they did not jump to surgery right away suggests that this may have been a possibility the doctors saw and had to wait until they were definitely sure before having any procedures done. that said, were talking multi million dollar contracts here, they should have come up w this a lot sooner.
