Darrell Arthur Traded from Memphis to Denver for Kosta Koufos

The Memphis Grizzlies dealt Darrell Arthur and the draft rights to Joffey Lauvergne to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Kosta Koufos. Per the press release: “Arthur, 6-9, 235, has averaged 6.7 points and 3.9 rebounds in four NBA seasons. He averaged 6.1 points and 2.9 rebounds in 59 games for the Grizzlies in 2012-13. Selected 27th overall in 2008, Arthur enjoyed his best season in 2010-11, averaging a career-high 9.1 points and 4.3 rebounds. He missed the 2011-12 season while recovering from an Achilles’ injury. Koufos, 7-0, 265, started 81 games for the Nuggets last season. He averaged a career-high 8.0 points and 6.9 rebounds while shooting .581 from the field. Lauvergne (pronounced LA-vern-yea), 6-11, 240, was selected 55th overall out of France. He played for three top pro leagues in Europe last season – France Pro A, Spanish ABC and Serbia A. The 21-year-old averaged 10.6 points and 6.1 rebounds in eight games with Partizan in Serbia, and 6.2 points in 14 games with Elan Chalon in France.”

    Memphis wth?

MEMPHIS GOT A STEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They give up a injured big for big who is effective in every area of the game!!! I have no idea what Denver is doing but I like what Memphis is doing. Now if Only Memphis can get some more shooters to help space the floor (easier said than done considering how hot that commodity is for wing players who shoot and defend). But a sneaky great trade for Memphis.

Memphis got a steal Koufos is completely underrated, and worlds better then Arthur.. take into account defense, rebounding, and the ability to gel with a team.

It was a stupid trade on Denvers part.. they could have done sooooo much better then an oft injured Darrell Arthur, and a draft pick that wont pan out in the league.. this is laughable

i like it for both teams actually. denver can now play a guy who gets 10 mil a year (macgee) starters minutes (i know, maybe i shouldn’t like that) and get a very solid back up 4 in arthur.

grizzlies management put a lot of sock into ed davis, so now they can use him like they want to with hollins gone, and with koufus of the bench, they will stay very big even with their second unit.

and I didn’t realize that Mozgof is a free agent…if they don’t resign him then that was a really dumb trade

Exactly, it’s even worse too when you take into consideration of how young Kosta Koufos is too only in his mid 20′s where there is STILL room to grow.. this perplexes me..
