Eric Bledsoe Reportedly in Possible Kevin Garnett/Doc Rivers Deal With Clippers

There’s all kinds of madness being reported regarding a possible deal between the Boston Celtics and LA Clippers. According to Yahoo! Sports, the latest chip to be included in the trade is Eric Bledsoe: “The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers are discussing possible compromises to including guard Eric Bledsoe into the Kevin Garnett-Doc Rivers deal with hopes of completing an agreement on Monday, league sources said. Discussions over a blockbuster deal reached an impasse on Saturday when Boston general manager Danny Ainge held firm that Bledsoe had to be a part of package that included DeAndre Jordan and a first-round pick, but sources say that Boston has shown a willingness to find another asset to supplant Bledsoe and complete the complicated deal, sources said. The Clippers are prepared to give Rivers a five-year deal to coach and believe acquiring Rivers and Garnett – who will waive his no-trade clause – will lock up the re-signing of free-agent superstar Chris Paul, sources said.”

The Shock Exchange wonders what the fall out is going to be when (i) every name on the Clippers and Celtics is mentioned in a proposed deal and (ii) none of those deals ACTUALLY happen. There are going be a lot of hurt feelings by the start of training camp.

    Hmm…
I’m not sure this makes the Clippers favorites in the West, but it does make them better.
If Blake improves they could be headed to the Finals.

move bledose, he will receive too much money on an open market next summer if he is not extended (which sterling probably won’t). i’m not sure going for kg is the best move but it will be great for next year at least

  • Redd

    This is very late news..

  • RonTeezy12

Remember like 2 years ago when Eric Maynor was always being talked about being such a good backup PG, miss those days

  • Junkie

He’s still talked about as being a good backup point guard these days… The blazers run him at the 1 and Lillard off the ball sometimes.

  • Max

    They can’t resign Bledsoe right?
Might aswell get KG and Doc if possible.

  • roscoe

you realize you just stated LAC is one move away from the finals?

    are you sure about that?

short arm BG32 has to get a whole ____ of lot better…

    i mean like Kmalone better.

does it really make them better?

They lose bledsoe and jordan for an old KG?

Sure, they’ll be coached better. But I feel like they could get more outta the two somewhere else.

  • LakeShow

You realize Chris Paul is a beast right?

You realize Doc Rivers is a top 3 coach currently?

You realize they still never found their identity and still reeled off 17 games in a row this last season?

You realize they were only 4 games behind the Thunder last season?

If you don’t like them, that’s fine, but your reaching if you think this team is not a contender to get out of the west.

  • LakeShow

Yes, they “could” possibly get more.
No this doesn’t take them up several notches, but it does make them better, even if slightly.

Why in the world do the Clippers think KG will make a difference with them. Did they watch last season or the playoffs with him playing. Also Bledsoe is a steal for a team, he can play. If my Lakers can trade Howard for Griffin and Bledsoe, they better do it. Lakers get a point guard for the future, a athetlic big and Pau can play center. Please Lakers just make this happen. Kobe can make Blake into a tough killer and Bledsoe will be able to play defense on the atheltic point guards. Then the Lakers need to bring Steve off the bench or trade him to Knicks for Iman Shumpert or Utah for Mo Williams. We need to get rid of Nash.

  • roscoe

i didn’t realize that cp3 can do it alone.

i didn’t realize doc’s wisdom can fix broke.

i didn’t realize those 17 Ws happen in the post season.

    i didn’t realize LAC won 66, not 56.

i like LAC, not a LAC fan, but I like em… but not as a contender.

  • LakeShow

    Good on you.
    I think your very wrong.

  • LakeShow

I like everything except the getting rid of Nash(But if that has to happen financially speaking, then so be it), and I also think KG would make the Clips better even if only for a season or two.

  • vannshy

“Blake” and “tough killer” in the same sentence hurt my eyes

  • ErnieD

They will need to shed payroll in order to afford re-signing CP3. Bledsoe would help make it more appealing for Boston, but then they are going to have to make a few other deals to free up the cap space for Chris Paul. Only way Pierce would join would be if he was bought out and signed for the veteran minimum. Part of me thinks Pierce could go to Brooklyn, be a lone wolf, and a future agent. Not a Knick or a Laker… he would not be welcome back for his one day contract when he retires, if he did that.

  • LobCity

    1) Clippers aren’t trace Blake
    2) Clippers won’t help the Lakers
    3) KG would make a difference simply because he’d actually be playing on the court rather as opposed to DJ who spent half the playoffs on the bench.

  • LobCity

    *trading Blake

  • Basketball_iQ

IMO: celtics need to pull the trigger moving forward. Move Rondo along slow from his injury, groom Jeff Green as the lead guy, get a young stud in Bledsoe *shrugs*,,, maybe even get the #1 next year… Ainge is a slick b@stard lol

  • uqk

if CP fail again past 1st round next year with Doc, KG, PP whats his excuse then?…..aah i know, its the 1st time they are together :D

this year lineup its already stacked in starters & bench….yet fail past 1st round: excuse…..vinny

  • Sérgio

Can they make deals when the season is not over yet?

  • Monta ellis

Me and rondo would be great teamates right
