LA Clippers Reportedly Interviewing Lionel Hollins

The word has been out for some time that the LA Clippers have some interest in Memphis Grizzlies head coach Lionel Hollins. According to the Commercial Appeal, Hollins and the Clippers have been chatting and may be setting up an in-person interview next week: “Lionel Hollins spoke with two Los Angeles Clippers executives by phone Thursday about the team’s head coaching vacancy, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. Hollins had lengthy conversations with Clippers executive vice president Andy Roeser and general manager Gary Sacks. Clippers brass asked Hollins to continue the interview process with a meeting in Los Angeles next week. Hollins’ contract as Grizzlies head coach expires June 30. The Griz are still deciding whether to retain Hollins, who is expected to attend the team’s second pre-draft workout Friday morning. Hollins was present Wednesday for the Grizzlies’ first workout. A source cited ‘philosophical differences’ for the schism between Hollins and Griz management. Hollins is still waiting to speak with CEO Jason Levien to address the perceived issues. Hollins did have conversations about his contract situation with Griz lead counsel David Mincberg over the past two days. The Denver Nuggets have also received permission to talk with Hollins about their head coaching vacancy. Denver will consider Hollins and Indiana assistant coach Brian Shaw as a replacement for George Karl, whom the Nuggets parted ways with on Thursday. The Clippers are looking to replace Vinny Del Negro, and have reportedly shown interest in Hollins, Karl, Shaw, former Phoenix coach Alvin Gentry and former Cleveland coach Byron Scott.”

    LAC can change coaches…

    get new fancy uniforms…

    change their name & colors…

    lower their beer prices…

    get hotter dance team members…

    give away free hot dogs…

come up with a snazzy marketing scheme…

BUT IT AIN’T GOING TO CHANGE THE FACT THEY CAN’T MAKE FREE THROWS!

It’s really only DJ (and the Hack-a-DJ) that’s holding the team down. BG hit big free throws down the stretch and shot 66% not ideal but other top player have done worse. I dream that one day he hits 50%, more like fantasy, i know
