Nate Robinson Open to Playing for the New York Knicks Again

Given that his client will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, Nate Robinson’s representative is making it known that should a deal to remain in Chicago not happen, the lil’ fella wouldn’t be opposed to playing in Gotham for a second time. Per ESPN: “Nate Robinson, who will be an unrestricted free agent come July 1, would be open to returning to the Knicks, according to his agent, Aaron Goodwin. ‘Nate’s first thought would be to remain with the Bulls, but if the Knicks’ opportunity presented itself, I am sure he would appreciate an opportunity to play in New York again,’ he said. Robinson started his NBA career in New York, where he played four-and-a-half seasons before being traded to the Celtics in Feb. 2010. During his time with the Knicks, he averaged 12.5 points, 2.8 assists and nearly one steal in about 25 minutes per game. Since then, Robinson has played for the Celtics, Thunder and Warriors, and he just wrapped up his first stint in Chicago, where he became one of the top playoff performers. Without Derrick Rose and mostly Kirk Hinrich due to injuries, Robinson took the reins at starting point guard and averaged 16.3 points, 4.4 assists and one steal in 12 postseason games. He helped lead the short-handed Bulls past the Nets in seven games in the first round, and then a Game 1 upset over the Heat. [...] The biggest question is: Would the Knicks be able to afford Robinson, who earned $1.15 million last season? Goodwin will likely seek a mid-level contract for his client, and the Knicks do have a taxpayer mid-level exception of $3.18 million to spend.”

Would be dope to see him and DRose play together imo.

jr smith and nate rob together, the irrational confidence meter would explode

  • pposse

nate rob with melo and jr smith? that does not seem like a good mix of talent. Maybe Mike Woodson wouldn’t mind, his teams always end up reverting to playing isolation basketball anyways.

if he heads to NY.. the season would be comedy

  • smith, blocked, smith, stopped

nate + jr + melo : all-time nba record for fewest assists in a season for a team.

Unless he plays for the minimum, that’s not happening

  • LakeShow

    How?

  • Sergio

    Better than JR Smith…

  • Max

    What do you mean how?
You put them on the court at the same time.

  • KingBenjamin

Two guys that jack shots up consistently in J.R. Smith and Nate Robinson, won’t work.

  • LakeShow

    Who guards the 2 guard?

  • Max

DRose, you can put those 2 together at the same time if the other team has 2 PG’s out aswell.

  • LakeShow

    No.

Keep having fun with the fantasy though.

I get it. It’s fun… But so is 5 PG’s playing at the same time. It’s just not practical. It won’t happen more than 5 mins in a game.

  • Max

Well, those 5 minutes would be dope.

  • LakeShow

    Agreed on that.
I’m the guy that admits to loving JR Smith while admitting he is a ridiculously inefficient player and sometimes lousy player.
I’m just saying as fun as your idea is… it’s ridiculous lol.

  • Kevin Olenick

guys, remember the nuggets knicks fight in 2006

  • Max

I hope Nate stays in Chicago so we can see what happens.

  • G

That would be the most dynamic force known to basketball. That trio would run teams up and down the floor no problem

  • daedae

yea your right but he also needs to stay with the bulls because if u really pay close attention the bulls need help from him NY don’t need it they already got Shumpert and plus they just got Tim hardaway jr from the draft
