NBA Players React to Spurs’ Game 5 Victory

A tweetcap.

No matter what the Heat did Sunday night, they just couldn’t find a way to slow down Manu Ginobili (24 points, 10 assists), Danny Green (24 points, 6 threes) and Tony Parker (26 points). The Spurs now lead the series 3-2 as both squads head back to Miami for Game 6. Peep how a variety of NBA players reacted to the San Antonio’s victory in the gallery above.

So we learn that NBA players like to dikride Jay-Z?

  • dacre

…. Leandroh Barbosa doesnt listen to Jay – Z….. more like ricky martin…..

Aand…..what are danny greens chances of getting mvp???

  • Caboose

The entire NBA likes to dikride Jay-Z. Case in point, that ridiculous EP credit he got on 2K13

  • JL

Who cares what his chances are! (I actually think it’s just as good as Duncan and Parker). This guy is making it happen! If he has one more big game in their next win, then he’s definitely the finals MVP. I think it’s probably Parker though. The smallball counter worked! Let’s (for the ones rooting for the spurs) hope they can win one on the Heat home court. This series is pretty epic.

I made fun of that, and there was actually someone who basically said I was stupid to discredit Jay-Z. Seriously. All he did was just put his name on it, along with a couple of his songs just to help spice up an old product that hasn’t changed much.

  • Caboose

And for some reason put Viva la Vida on the soundtrack. Granted, I like the song, but not exactly the same vibe as the rest of the music on there…

Go Spurs…. I had a friend of my wifes call me a hater (haters gunna hate was the phrase..) when I explained that if manu plays well and counters what ray allen gives and miller adds as a starter this could be the spurs by wednesday…. Popovich is the real MVP. All I want is another 48 mins out of parkers legs…. This gary neal fellow is in range pretty much when his warmup pants come off…. so will the heat try and get a decent centre next season so Bosh can play his natural position SF…?

  • JL

LOL. Love the Neal comment. He is streaky, and has kept it going so far. You mean Bosh really wants to play SG right? All he does is shoot 3′s and get 3 reb’s a game. I’m actually quite disappointed in him. I really thought he was a pretty good player, but playing on a team with no inside threat, he’s actually drifted out even more. Looks like the coach wants him out to clear space for driving. I mean that makes sense when you have slashers like Lebron and Wade, but you have to mix in some inside looks for him.

Anyway, IMO people call other people haters when they don’t know enough about a subject to have a discussion and resort to name calling. If they come to that conclusion after some intelligent discussion, then that’s fine. But straight out calling someone a hater just because they don’t share the same viewpoint (commonly used this way) is pretty annoying.

so tired of the Spurs.. Heat better crush them into retirement next two games in MIA!

  • Max

Finally no burger nonsense coming from Ron..

If the spurs win it all. I wish they name co-mvps

  • OfftheWall87

A few players tweeted about a commercial and said they’re ready for his new album…how’s that “dikriding”? Dudes can’t like his music?

  • Max

And the finals co-mvp goes to, the Spurs starting 5!

  • LLC#12

Surprising how few players can spell Ginobili

  • Roger Rogers

its almost as if theyre fans of his…crazy huh?

  • shannon

yep, I would even say it goes to the Spurs organization(dont forget about Pop!)

  • http://twitter.com/niQknacks niQ

Man, Danny Green, would the NBA allow him to get MVP? It’ll probably end up in Parker’s or Duncan’s hands but still.

  • spit hot fiyah

i guess batum is not old enough to remember maradona

  • retrobat

I actually found Viva La Vida to be a nice surprise. Agreed it’s not part of the same vibe, but was a nice addition. Plus Jay-Z and Chris Martin are supposedly good friends.

  • spit hot fiyah

i have a Berkley story for u bro

  • Saleem Rainman

Probably meant still playing. Which would still not be Manu over Messi, but still lol

  • Caboose

    Yeah?

  • DFried615

    Gotta love MWP

  • Phil

    No they can’t

  • OfftheWall87

    Stupid.

  • Phil

Nope that’d be you buddy, for not recognizing the sarcasm. Jay-z is treated like a god and for what? Big pimpin was good, and he has had some pop rap tunes that people like, big deal…? I think he is pretentious (1b: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/pretentious) and I recognize that NBA players kiss his ass likely because they want to be part of Roc Nation Sports.

  • Phil

There have been better rappers in the game at every stage of Jay-z’s career.

  • Roger Rogers

listen to the viva la hova mixtape.
