Rockets Reportedly Offered First-Round Pick For Thomas Robinson

The Rockets have been offered a 2013 first-round pick for Thomas Robinson, according to ESPN.com. Trading Robinson’s $3.2 million salary would clear up more cap space to acquire Dwight Howard (if they stash an international player with the first-round pick):

So, Thomas Robinson’s confidence has to be at legendarily low levels right?

    You think it’s his confidence?

i was really high on him when he got drafted. i know houston liked him before the draft, but why trade for a guy that doesn’t fit into your system at all? i think he gets moved, unfortunately i only see him having an impact on a bad team were he can get a lot of minutes. if he has to back up a good 4 i don’t think he will see enough court time to develop, also his confidence be at an all time low

These guys are all dumb, if you are really about winning multiple championships, Dwight had to take a pay cut, like Lebron and wade did. They will just end up losing Parsons in free agency if they Mac Dwight, because they will be in the same position as okc

Feel bad for the guy, not even a year after being chosen as the 5th overall pick in last year’s draft it almost looks certain that he’s going to be playing for his third NBA team this year. Unfortunately, I only see him making an immediate impact on a bad team. With that being said I think he would be a perfect fit for the Bobcats if they could somehow trade for him without giving up this year’s first round pick and using that pick on Ben McLemore, they would be a nice and up and coming team.

Potential Charlotte Starting 5 13-14 Season
    PG Kemba Walker
    SG Ben McLemore
    SF Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
    PF Thomas Robinson
    C Bismack Biyombo

leslie alexander said that he’s willing to pay luxury to be a contender. with robinson’s 3.5 mil at the moment we CAN’T sign howard, but once parsons’ contract is up we can offer an extension and go over the cap

Well, I mean, his career looks like this:
Kings: We’re gonna draft you 5th overall!
Thomas: Sounds great! I can’t wait to make an immediate impact for you guys.
Kings: Yeah, we’re actually gonna play you behind Jason Thompson and Chuck Hayes.
Kings: Hey Thomas, we’re gonna trade you to a team that doesn’t really have a starting power forward, that way you can make an impact!
    Thomas: Good!
Rockets: Hey Thomas, so we’re actually gonna start our SF at PF, so there’s actually no spot for you.
Thomas: Who’s going to play the 3 though?
Rockets: Um…the throw in player from the trade with you…
Rockets: Thomas, we believe in you, but we believe we have a better chance of convincing a free agent to come here. Sorry, so we’re trading you to get rid of your salary, even though it’s still one of the smallest on the team.
He was very overrated after college, for sure, but yeah, I think his confidence level really killed his chances with Houston. Think Darko.
