Sacramento Kings Fined by the NBA for Tampering

It turns out that the third team fined this week by the NBA for tampering with soon-to-be free agents was the Sacramento Kings. The Houston Rockets and Atlanta Hawks also received slaps on the wrist from the League (the fine amounts were undisclosed.) Per the Sac Bee: “During his introductory news conference as the Kings’ new coach June 3, Michael Malone said point guard Chris Paul ‘would look good in a Kings uniform’ in response to a question about his relationship with the Clippers’ free-agent-to-be. Malone was an assistant coach in New Orleans when Paul played for the Hornets. ‘The Kings organization accepts the league’s decision and regret any infraction of the policy,’ team spokesman Chris Clark said.”

    Like anyone’s going to Sacramento.

You must admit the chances of ‘Anyone’ going to Sac in Free Agency have increased after the house cleaning the King’s just did. However, CP3, Dwight Howard? Very unlikely.

How many people wanted to play for the Nets when they were in NJ? Nobody, how many people wanted to play for Golden State 3 years ago? Nobody.

Now you got people wishing they could be a part of a team on the rise. That’s what the Kings will be in a year or two.

Ehh…That roster is full of a bunch of young players with no direction. No standout player. Tyreke Evans has regressed. Cousins is good, but temperamental to say the least. Will take more than a year or two for that organization to fix the mess it’s currently in.

Everybody going to the Knicks… make it happen, Walsh!

This is tampering, but Pat Riley and Wade meeting w/ LeBron and Bosh while they were under contract wasn’t.

besides your rad nickname… Vans or North Shore?

I completely agree… who was the last big free agent who sign in SAC?

for that answer alone teams like SAC should be given the right to tamper.

i mean the L wants parity right?

Just like in 2010 when LeBron was going to the Knicks.

    It’s a Michael Jackson album.

Can’t see any player signing with a team like that. They have to make a decision on Tyreke and do something about Cousins’ attitude issues. They traded away their top draft pick from last season. Right now the most stable part of their roster is the PG position with Isaiah Thomas.

    good points.

I have to imagine SAC is going to make a move with dcuz next summer when the draft class is better & a better class of free agents are in the market.

until 2014 summer I believe we are going to see dcuz antics 2.0 unless the USA team experience makes an impact on him then they will move Ty.
