Golden State Warriors Sign Jermaine O’Neal and Toney Douglas

Free agent big man Jermaine O’Neal and guard Toney Douglas both inked one-year deals, as the Golden State Warriors continue their summer shopping spree. Per the Contra Costa Times: “Douglas gives the Warriors a veteran guard off the bench who is known for defending. He can also shoot the 3 pretty well. He’s not a traditional point guard, which Golden State seems to need, but he is someone who will be able to defend and make a play. O’Neal, entering his 18th season, showed he still has something left in the tank last season for Phoenix. He averaged 8.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 18.7 minutes off the bench. The 6-foot-11, 34-year-old center figures to be a reliable place holder to back up Andrew Bogut while Festus Ezeli recovers from knee surgery.”

Jermaine played really well off the bench last season, it’s just nobody noticed because he was on a terrible team. Good signing

I’m guessing they signed Jermaine out of pure hope he could contain dwight for even 5-10 min a game, either way I think it’s a signing they needed to make, now they have 2 huge bodies to push dwight around all game long.

Good signings! Filled their biggest needs (back up point guard and center). I think they are set fir the season.
