Kevin Garnett Would Have Retired if Traded Without Paul Pierce

Future Hall of Famers Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce have been close since they were teenagers. So, it stands to reason that they wanted to continue their basketball partnership once the Boston Celtics decided to blow up their team. KG tells Sina Sports in China that he would’ve chosen retirement had he been traded alone to the Brooklyn Nets. Via Celtics Life’s very rough translation: “Moderator: ‘Can you say if the transaction object is only you, no Pierce, you would choose to reject it?’ Garnett: ‘I would refuse, if I was traded away, I would choose to retire, without a doubt, I would choose to retire.’”

Its heartwarming to see that there are still people like that in the world. What a player.

It’s going to be really sad day when he throws it all in.

Definitely. As a Miami fan as much as I hate KG as a Celtic, man, the guy was a beast when he was on the Wolves. I wanted him to win at least 1 ring. Glad he did and hopefully goes out with his boy PP.

So true. Out of all those years in Minnesota they probably had one season where they were a fringe contender, still no forcing trades or whining about much (unlike a few other stars…). Have there ever been a superstar player who took so much pride in his defense every single game?

    KG to Pierce ‘
    I f*cking love you, dog.
    F*cking love you.
I wanna be inside you, homes.
    I wanna be inside you’

I know this sounds weird, but can
we be best friends? Just us, for real?

    - We should all be best friends.
    - We should.

    Seriously. You guys are, like,
    both of my best friends.

You didn’t know it. Now you know it,
    we’ll all be best friends.

Know those hearts that break up,
    “best friends”?

We should get a three-way on.

Never saw that dude coast through a game. He is one of the greats. There is a reason Bill Russell loved his game…
