Los Angeles Clippers Unveil ‘Back in Blue’ Uniform (PHOTOS)

The Clips’ on-court threads get a makeover.

The Los Angeles Clippers are going ‘Back to Blue’ with these new uniforms from adidas, as the team will don these short-sleeve light blue jerseys for their Sunday home games during the ’13-14 season. Check out the soon to be on-court look in the gallery above.

More from adidas:

“The ‘Back in Blue’ uniform features a light blue color for the first time since the team was based in San Diego in 1985. The shorts feature nautical flags to represent the team’s letters – L-A-C – to stand for Los Angeles Clippers.”

you mean other than the hopes that this will increase revenue?
the compression is supposed to help performance. It’s basically supposed to be a PEJ (performance enhancing jersey).

  • Dfrance

A PeeJay? I see all types of marketing possibilies here bro, lets get on it! lol

lmfao let’s start an online store, turn these sleeved jersey’s into actual pajamas. we will be rich!!!!!!!!! Trademark by the way. Anyone steals that idea and i steal your soul.

    With the feet in them.

  • RKJ92

We need to get back to our pin stripe retro jerseys.. those were amazing..

  • Saleem Rainman

top 5 Jerseys of all time IMO, if not #1.

  • Dfrance

“Increase your vertical leap, while you sleep in the new adidas PE-J!” Bout to reserve a domain name. lol

  • Dfrance

    I think I like it!

how much is the licensing fee from the NBA? we definitely need to secure a huge loan. probably put together one hell of a pitch. this is too daunting already.

  • RKJ92

Hell ya, I have a real autographed T-Mac one on the wall in my living room. I just pray with Tim taking over, and rebranding the Raptors (which btw he announced the name is sticking for good, and Drake is being signed as a “hype consultant” to revamp the image a la Jay-Z) he will bring back the jerseys from which we had the most success in..

these would be sick if they were actually jerseys and not t-shirts

  • Drig

    Ads. TONS OF AD-SPACE!!.

  • robb

Saw these on the NBA 2K14 gameplay and thought they were nice colors but why in t shirt form?

I was doubtfull at first because of possible sleeve restriction which could hamper shooting motion. The ridge of different fabric along the shoulder might eliminate that problem. I don’t know, would have to test them. Jersey sales could possibly take a jump though. Let’s be honest. Who really wears traditional jersey’s on the court or in the streets. It’s rare and limited to the jerseys of a few superstars. We probably all own some but would never wear them outside of going to the arena to watch a game. or to the sportsbar because your team made it deep into the play-offs. These new type shirts are a lot more fashionable today than an oversized baggy tank top. My 2 cents.

  • cool

Trust the experts, these jersey tops are going to look great when they implement the the next phase of switching bball shorts for girls volleyball shorts.

  • Cameron

I feel like the next thing they’re gonna come out with is a all-in-one jersey and shorts thing.

    And so it begins

  • robb

lol they look like overgrown babies.

  • danpowers

these sleeved jerseys look so damn ugly…

  • Smits#45

Somehow reminds me of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Running Man. Don’t like them. Don’t try to fix it if it ain’t broken.

  • TR

I like them..not as good as the Chargers powder blue, but still cool

  • shockexchange

What next, onesies with the snap-ons at the bottom?

  • Tempest

Buying uniforms from baby gap are we? GTFO NBA t-shirts

  • aндрій базилевич

EXACTLY! i hope thats what the rebranding is all about…

They need to send these uniforms to the WNBA

  • Mike

Simply? Jerseys have saturated and peaked in sales so let’s think of a new way to sell merch to the kids. Bottom line….and kids are more likely to buy and wear these everyday too cos they look like clothes not uniforms…..a simple move like this l probably result in another 100 mil lộ for thóse rich white men in suits……bullshit..

  • Alab

    Soccer Uniforms?

  • RC

On tv you can’t tell who is who, can’t even see the numbers on there uniforms unless up close. This is a big mistake

  • pauol

    I actually like the look…
