LeBron James Says the Heat and Bulls Don’t Like Each Other

by Marcel Mutoni @ marcel_mutoni

There’s really no mystery to this heated rivalry — LeBron James and company are what’s standing between Derrick Rose and his first NBA title.

While Rose is saying all of the right things, James did not mince words prior to tonight’s season-opening showdown between the two Eastern Conference powerhouses.

LeBron says the Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls simply don’t like each other.

Per the AP:

The Heat will get their rings in an elaborate pregame ceremony, one that everyone — well, almost everyone — inside the building will be watching. The Bulls plan to stay in their locker room for the festivities, and it’s somewhat logical to think they’ll be spending part of that time verbalizing some sort of sentiment about emerging and spoiling the party.

“We don’t like them and they don’t like us,” James said. “It’s not like it’s unheard of. We all know what it is. They don’t like us, so we don’t like them.”

Chris Bosh, bless his heart, added some colorful perspective while comparing the two teams’ collective mindsets:

“When Dallas got their rings [on Christmas Day 2011], we wanted to embarrass them on their home floor, wanted to defecate on their night,” Bosh said of a Mavericks team that beat the Heat in the Finals in June 2011. “We know [the Bulls] want to do that to us and they want to spoil what we have going.”

The NBA will mercifully return tonight, and we couldn’t ask for a more intriguing battle to kick things off.

Game—On… Hope Drose gives Lebron and the Heat a Wake up call.

  • Shooting Guard

If they liked each other where would be our entertainment?

  • Allan

    Shockexchange was right. WWE!

  • Nella

    Ha…defecate. Like a Bosh.

If guys have to resort to these fake beefs, if makes one wonder if the L is having trouble selling tickets in this difficult economy. (Black Ric Flair voice) “WOOOOOO! WOOOOOO!”

  • Dfrance

This is gonna be great. Bulls/Heat. NBA on TNT. Ring Ceremony. The Return. Defecation.

Can’t say I’ve been this pumped for opening night in a long time!

Here’s hoping Noah pinches one off at center court.

actually…..as of yesterday, this Bulls v Heat game was still not sold out.
Miami was having trouble selling out finals games, because their fans are the worst.
*edit* – the game has sold out. they are now selling standing room only tickets.

During the ring ceremony, the Bulls sneak into the Heat locker room and defecate in all the player’s street shoes, thereby setting a nefarious tone for the upcoming season.

Somebody post that “You think your world is safe/D. Rose The Return” thing….

  • AndyK415

Didn’t LeBron just say that he was going to welcome back Rose?

  • Anthony

The Vengance…jawn, that’s it, with Kahn from Star Trek doing the voice over…
    ‘So…..shall we begin?”

  • LakeShow

    This is a rivalry.

    Anyone not think so?

  • Smits#45

Looks like it. If the Bulls win it this year then it will definitely be one next year.

  • LakeShow

Yeah, i’d like to see some more playoff wins on Chi’s side, but I think that’s coming this post season.

It’s definitely the best rivalry the L has to offer.

i think Thunder vs Rockets is going to be soo much fun this season.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

    or maybe Rockets vs Warriors.
    now i can’t decide.

  • LakeShow

We could go on and on, but the Warriors battling both of them… AWESOME.

  • LakeShow

lol…. we both kinda thought that at the same time haha.

yeah that was a bit bizarre aye?

I agree I’d love to see some balance as far as wins go but as far as intensity and pure distain these teams have for each other? It’s a legit rivalry.

  • spit hot fiyah

smh @ bosh, what a choice of words

Miami is at least top 3 in the league in attendance and the final numbers for attendance for Miami home games during the 2013 finals were:

    Game 1: Attendance: 19,775

    Game 2: Attendance: 19,900

    Game 6: Attendance: 19,900

    Game 7: Attendance: 19,900

There fans are pretty fair-weather but they still show up.

considering they have one of only 9 arenas in the league that can hold that many people….and the only one of the other 9 is a playoff team (Chicago), i’m not going to act like i’m very surprised.
selling out, and leading in attendance are unrelated.

  • The Seed

Derrick Rose will be the MVP this year and put the Heat out, unless the Nets get to them first. BOOK IT!!!

“There fans are pretty fair-weather but they still show up.”
