Marcus Camby Out Indefinitely With Torn Plantar Fascia

Houston Rockets backup big man Marcus Camby says he won’t be back on the court for at least two weeks, and he’s hoping to avoid foot surgery (which would knock Camby out for up to two months.) Per the Houston Chronicle: “My plantar fascia is torn,’ Camby said. ‘I’m trying to do whatever I can to avoid surgery. We’re just going to rehab it and see how it goes in the next two weeks and take it from there. We don’t want to rehab it and nurse it and have it still be lingering. That is something I’m going to sit back and figure out and definitely look toward long term, as the season progresses to the second half of the season. I have to be smart about it.’ Signed to return to the Rockets as a free agent to join the mix backing up Dwight Howard, Camby has not participated in practices in training camp this season. Camby played in just 24 games last season.”

camby is gonna play like 5 games tops, can any knick fans agree with me on how useless this guy is now? didnt do a meaningful thing all last year, and the rockets think he can help? good luck houston

You can say the same for Juwan Howard. Some players are able to contribute to team success without doing anything on the court

True. but i never heard of Camby doing anything like that. we had j-kidd, tyson, melo, and i even noticed k-mart doing some leadership kinda stuff when he joined the team.

I feel like that whole veteran leadership stuff is overblown. Miami would have been just fine without Juwan Howard cheerleading on the sidelines.

Who knows… Miami weren’t just fine, the actually got lucky to go all the way so maybe good old Juwan has a bigger role in this championship than you think.

Luck tends to like expirenced players more imo

I tore my plantar fascia 4 years ago aged 43. It took me the best part of a year to fully recover. Even with all of the medical advantages Camby has I think this is the end for him.
