Nicolas Batum Out With a Concussion

Portland Trail Blazers forward Nicolas Batum suffered a concussion after taking a nasty spill during a team practice on Tuesday. Batum will sit out tonight’s preseason game against the Phoenix Suns. Per the Columbian: “Batum left practice early after colliding into the stanchion underneath one of the baskets at the Trail Blazers practice facility. He went up for a dunk and WIll Barton contested the shot and that resulted in the fall. Barton also suffered a concussion last week but is back, playing in Fan Fest and the first preseason game on Monday. Batum’s injury is the latest in a slew of injuries for the Trail Blazers. The most serious is rookie guard CJ McCollum’s broken foot which has him out indefinitely. LaMarcus Aldridge dealt with a strained right quad that kept him out of practices and the Trail Blazers first preseason game. Mo Williams has been dealing with a sprained right ankle. Dorell Wright dislocated his right middle finger but sat out of Monday’s game for resting purposes, per head coach Terry Stotts. Earl Watson has been dealing with a left calf contusion that’s kept him out.”
