Thomas Robinson Cited for Driving 52 Miles Over the Speed Limit

Portland Trail Blazers forward Thomas Robinson was cited by police on Friday for driving his Porsche 107 miles an hour in a 55 zone. Tsk, tsk. Robinson has since apologized. Per the Oregonian: “An officer ‘observed a white 2013 Porsche Panamera traveling at a high rate of speed on the freeway,’ said Sgt. Pete Simpson, Portland Police Bureau, in an email. ‘The officer’s LIDAR would clock the vehicle at 107 MPH in a 55 MPH zone.’ Robinson, 22, a power forward, was acquired by the Blazers in June during a trade with the Houston Rockets. Robinson was cited for violation of the Basic Rule (100 MPH +), which carries a fine of $1,150, Simpson said. Robinson was polite and cooperative during the encounter, Simpson said.”

drazen, bobby phills, malik sealy…..if can’t learn from other’s mistakes we might have to learn from our own, and then it might be too late.

  • Dfrance

Malik Sealy was killed by a drunk driver who was on the wrong side of the road and Drazen was a passenger in an accident which was not the fault of the driver of his vehicle. Other than that, I co-sign your post. lol

Maybe I’m a p*ssy, but I broke the 100mph barrier maybe 1 time and I was kinda shook. Coulda just been the rumbling of my wheels and steering wheel tho, as I drive a car slightly less expensive and spec’d out than a Panamera.

    loooooooooool

  • Dfrance

    Hilarious.

“Just traveling at the speed of traffic yall, won’t happen again tho.”

  • Max

Get your sh*t together dude, I was really pulling for him coming into the L.

Seriously, though, we have some of the lowest speed limits in the country here. That 55 MPH zone they’re talking about is our freaking interstate highway – the 5 – which goes from Mexico to Canada. 55 is crazy slow for such a big highway.

not the fault of drazen’s driver? his girl who was an inexperienced driver driving on the german autobahn when rain was pouring.

and i was more so referring to NBA players who died in car accidents as being a reason be careful in general, not the circumstances surrounding them.

Oh, well when you said “others mistakes” I took that to mean the people mentioned were to blame, my mistake.

In reference to Drazen, I always thought it was that a car went through the median and hit them.

Its all to generate money from tickets. They know at any point that things are slow, they can throw a speed camera out there and get a bazillion dollars worth of speeding tickets in a day.

See what happens when you get drafted by the Kings? Ask Tyreke… :)

  • spit hot fiyah

that’s not what they said in the once brothers doc

they said he fell asleep while his girl was driving and the weather was terrible, and they were probably going fast since there is no/or was no speed limit on the autobahn, and she lost control.

  • insaneinthemembrane

Pretty sure you’re not supposed to drive at the speed limit time two minus three

  • OneStep

If you’ve got deep pockets then this is definitely the way to get caught speeding. None of that 5mph over the limit crap. Break the sound barrier and rewrite some records whilst you’re at it.
PS. I’m not suggesting anyone actually does this. You could die trying.
