Dennis Rodman Checks Into Rehab For Alcohol Abuse

Dennis Rodman has had his fair share of problems recently—leading a group of retired NBA players to North Korea and embarrassing both them and himself on CNN, for one. According to Rodman’s agent, the former Chicago Bull has been struggling with alcoholism, and has checked himself into a center to get it fixed. Per the AP, via ESPN:

Dennis Rodman has checked into an undisclosed alcohol rehabilitation center to treat his longtime struggle with alcoholism, his agent says.

Darren Prince declined on Saturday to say which facility will treat Rodman and how long he will be there. Rodman recently returned to the United States from his latest trip to North Korea.

He later apologized for comments he made in North Korea about a detained American missionary, saying he had been drinking and was under pressure as he organized an exhibition game there. He also sang “Happy Birthday” to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un at the start of the friendly game.

“What was potentially a historic and monumental event turned into a nightmare for everyone concerned,” Prince said. “Dennis Rodman came back from North Korea in pretty rough shape emotionally. The pressure that was put on him to be a combination `super human’ political figure and ‘fixer’ got the better of him.

“He is embarrassed, saddened and remorseful for the anger and hurt his words have caused.”

Does that explain his whole journey to North Korea? It probably will come out that he was flat ass drunk the past few years and decided to go on a bet or something.

Media stop telling the people what to think. I dont think he embarassed himself on tv? he was emotional? sure. All he was saying was americans only have 1 side of the story.

He literally is trying to create goodwill over there. Or is only Henry Kissinger allowed to do such a thing?

  • Ugh

Hahaha. As much as people might like to say Rodman is being an idiot, he’s done far less harm to the US or North Korea than Kissinger ever did to anyone, anywhere.

    Exactly.
