John Wall Unsure if He Will Be in the Dunk Contest

After becoming an NBA All-Star for the first time in his career on Thursday night, an emotional John Wall wasn’t yet ready to commit to any of the other festivities during All-Star Weekend. Per CSN Washington:

I called my mom and said, ‘We made it.’ We made another step in life. It’s one of my goals I set for myself when I made it to the NBA. I’m glad I accomplished it.

I was close to tears, to be honest. Getting in front of my teammates and stuff, talking to those guys tomorrow, I might have a couple of tears. I appreciate those guys for believing in me, having faith in me being their point guard and leader. Most of those guys text me and called me and said, ‘Congratulations.’ I know I have a great team behind me and supporting me.

Have you been asked by the league to participate in the dunk or skills contest on Saturday before the game itself?

Yes, both I’ll make decisions tomorrow or sometime next week. They have asked me. I’m not sure. I don’t know what I’ll do yet. I’m shocked after the news I got tonight so I can’t even tell you.

sure, why not. i have zero expectations for the contest this year. every single year the ncaa and mcdonald’s dunk contest are much better

Wonder if they will ever consider eliminating the dunk contest altogether. The stuff these dunk specialists are doing nowdays really outshines anything the nba guys do anymore.

He just needs to do it, losing won’t hurt his name! Jordan and the rest of the Dunk legends all did this competition for FUN and for the fans, its time for actual NAMES in the league come together and help save the Dunk Contest! Doesn’t matter what dunks they do, a name like Lebron and Durant raise ratings!

He should, he has been overrated up to this point and finally played a good season.
