Kevin Durant Tweets Photo of Hookah Smoking and Says Phone Was Hacked

Because this is the Internet, with all of its ridiculousness, Kevin Durant deleting a photo of him smoking hookah from his (allegedly) hacked Twitter account has now become a story:

  • jmm

Man it’s flavoured tobacco, no one cares…

  • bike

LMFAO! That picture is gonna be a collecters item one day!

  • Chubachuchi

    It’s just hookah KD don’t worry…..

  • Dfrance

Even if you were hacked, NO ONE is going to believe it. Why do these celebs even bother?

And is hookah a banned substance or something? I’m sure there are NBA players that smoke cigs.

  • spit hot fiyah

    yes, they are called Europeans

  • https://twitter.com/_SimeonA703 LBN-3805

It’s hookah not crack or heroin, the man is blowing out some tobacco….. let him live

  • MUBWAR

it’s just a hooka mixed with a little green. No worry’s KD

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

most of the public doesn’t realize that’s an option, don’t ruin the secret for these guys jerk

  • LakeShow

The best part is it’s not even a mistake lol.
    F*ckign lil angel KD…
    Just let loose a little.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

it might be a mistake, as in he may have posted the wrong picture (i’ve seen people do that before), but not that his smoking hookah was a mistake. he probably smokes quite frequently ;)

  • LakeShow

I hope these guys chill out with a jay or some mixed hookah when they get home. It could be key to some of their success in staying relaxed through all the pressure.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

drug tests have been over for a week now …… #justsayin

  • robb

    I wouldn’t be so sure

  • MUBWAR

    loool

  • Fat Lever

Didn’t they just play in Colorado? I’m just sayin….

  • MUBWAR

does that mean no NBA player gets drug tested after December?

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

well the guys in the drug program do, but guys with clean records (as i’ve been told by an NBA player) typically aren’t tested after New Years. the guys get 3 tests a year, normally they all take place between training camp and Christmas.

  • shockexchange

Having your Twitter account hacked is a problem. In the Shock Exchange’s opinion, when people stop trying to hack your Twitter account that’s a bigger problem – it means you’re no longer relevant KD.

  • Vince Gully

Why does Durant feel the need to lie? He should just say “Yeah, I smoke hookah in my off time. So what?”

  • MUBWAR

    cool thanks 4 the info

  • LakeShow

He’s gotta be a little pissed his Thunder squad moved, and aren’t still the Sonics in Washington.

  • LakeShow

If people don’t realize you can intake THC in 1000′s of different ways yet then they just aren’t aware individuals…. They probably think Obamacare is going to be awesome too…

  • LakeShow

Yes, I have heard this also. Makes sense, and I appreciate the L’s understanding of privacy.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

nah man, think about the Baby Boomers, “this is your brain on drugs” – the stigma around it is extremely ignorant with the older generations, especially with the “hookah” stuff, most people don’t even know what Hookah’s really are, let alone how they work.

  • Biggggg in here

Fake, his face is on a fat mans body.

  • MUBWAR

the affordable care act seems pretty good. i don’t know a lot about it. But it’s helping people with low income.

  • LakeShow

    The whole system is f*cked.

Any more control handed over to the man (even if the results appear to be “helping the poor”) is just further towards humanities down fall.

We are handing over our health to a system that truly does not care if you’re healthy and actually may prefer the opposite. (look no further than the fact that government subsidizes big tobacco and now is in control of our medical care)

Healthcare needs to be privatized to cater to higher capabilities in medical practice. The government wants us to be a part of their agenda where we are so wrapped up in the system that we don’t care about the basics of humanities needs. If we keep adding to the mommy state (health care included) and to bigger government we will fall a harder fall than ancient Rome.

But that is inevitable because people think that the system can be fixed when it needs to be abolished…

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

the affordable care act is a complete disaster. it was designed to help the 15% of people without health insurance by forcing them to buy health insurance.
    .
oh, and it also creates about $6,000 in additional taxes each year. essentially, Obamacare is going to destroy the middle class. which is the exact opposite of what Obama ran on.

  • LakeShow

    Baby boomers are 60-ish now.

I think the majority of the populous is cued in on MJ now.

  • LakeShow

    You talking about your picture?

    Cause KD’s is definitely real.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

well it’s not just the baby boomers, that next generation lived through that propaganda too. i mean, it’s like half the populace now supports legalizing, but still, the other half thinks it’s in the same breath as heroin. ignorance is rampant, especially the closer you are to the middle of the country. us west coasters are really not exposed to the general opinion of the nation as a whole. there are 50,000,000 americans between the ages of 45 and 54 according to the 2012 census, which is by far the largest contingent of any age of people over the age of 18. younger than 45, and older than 54 carry about the same number of individuals –> http://factfinder2.census.gov/faces/tableservices/jsf/pages/productview.xhtml?src=bkmk

  • LakeShow

    Absolutely correct.

  • King David

with Westbrook out til the after the All Star break i think he’s entitled to a couple of puffs LOL

  • King David

with Westbrook out til after the All Star break i think he’s entitled to a couple of puffs LOL

  • Wings23

Newsflash KD, Hookah isn’t illegal. You’re not a tween Disney star so relax.

  • Tylonn

It’s probably not that he’s afraid to face moral condemnation from adults (prob doesn’t give a s), but that he wouldn’t want children to think he would glorify smoking by posting pics like that, thus the apology.

  • LakeShow

    Understood.

And to me, this is where parents aren’t doing their job.

It is your job to tell your kids that there are adult activities and activities for children. And they are different. It shouldn’t be bad for KD to display himself doing something fully legal and to be thought of poorly because of that. Children need to know that “smoking” in general is not bad, it is just not healthful for growing organisms.

    Be a parent!!

  • fruizm

    That aint no hookah!

  • Biggggg in here

    nah bro, thats me

  • vINSANITY

    Whats wrong with crack?

  • LakeShow

    That’s a photo-shopped Randy Coleman.

  • brothasdontsurf

He is older than 18, that is all that matters regarding this picture.

  • http://twitter.com/niQknacks niQ

fwiw, they were saying it was his phone that somehow got hacked. Nick Collison said KD was going through TSA security while the pic was posted and KD said his family was receiving rude texts at the same time. but who knows.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

does that really make sense? someone remotely controlled Kevin Durant’s phone?

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

hey i broke down Melo’s contract and why it isn’t as big of a deal if he leaves New York if you want to take a gander, http://t.co/sL9HbIlDAR

  • BigAl#13

    Say that to my Mayor

  • blackcrossblackshield

And big insurance companies and pharma companies care about us? No one said the government is perfect, but only a moron and/or a conservative is dumb enough to believe major healthcare corporations care about helping people. I work for a huge private health insurance company. There is nothing benevolent or altruistic about my industry. At least I’m one of the scum bags who is honest about how much we don’t give two sh!ts about helping people. And don’t even get me started on big private pharma and their 3000% mark ups for life saving drugs. Their patents would never expire if it were up to them, unlike the millions who can’t afford their drugs. There can be no such thing as a moral healthcare system designed to help the people in a capitalist society. It’s just how it is. People have to do what’s right for them. If totally private or fostered by Obamacare, do whatever you can afford.

  • Tuomas Uotila

Seriously, even if there was something other than two apples flavor tobacco in there, why lie? What would he have done wrong if he said there wasn’t? A false image can’t be THAT important, can it?

  • JJ Jones

This isn’t the first image.of him smoking and people wonder why he sucks in the 4th quarter when he’s without westbrook. This shit is bad for your lungs and your conditioning.

  • LakeShow

    Toronto’s resident Chris Farley.

  • Max

    Maybe not even tobacco.

  • fruizm

Staying relaxed is essential for success. I’m all up for staying relaxed!!!

  • RKJ92

Believe it or not.. he’s actually a pretty good mayor lol, like everybody knows dude did some dumb ish’ but he’s good at saving a tonne of money for the city of Toronto (into the millions), also just recently fighting against the raising of our public transit. He’s a Chris Farley of the people!! LOL

  • LakeShow

If approval rating say anything, Obama might need to step aside for the NEW PRESIDENT!

  • pposse

off topic, but don’t expect to get Kyle Lowry’s shoes in Chicago!

  • pposse

ACA will only work if young healthy individuals will opt in to help subsidize the healthcare for people with low income.

So for example, John Doe being 29, healthy but without health insurance offered from his job must sign up and pay around $200 or more premium per month to get basic coverage, but now John Doe tears his ACL and has to get surgery. He finds out that his deductible for the surgery is $6,000!

Normally with private insurance his deductible for this procedure would be $2,500 and would represent the max out of pocket expense he would have to pay. Healthy young folks who are paying attention to what’s goin on in the world won’t willingly opt into that.

  • RKJ92

LOL whata bummy ass nlgga.. did you see that ish’ ahahaha

  • pposse

i tried to break down the aca in a previoius post to you, i have zero idea why its being moderated!!

  • RKJ92

Fords a bad dude forsureeeee, trust me no one would f*ck with America if he was the Prez LOL; he is so corrupted Lake, like the guy is everywhere in downtown Toronto just chilling with the scuzziest people, and dealers. Dude reminds me of the kingpin..

  • pposse

heyyo he pulled a Richard Sherman pick 6 with that one

  • The Seed

He still cannot not get fire, still all smoke.

  • Lonely

    He’s black

    duh

  • Ugh

    …President of…?

  • Ugh

It shouldn’t be too hard to draw up the thought pattern here:
“Dude! We found Kevin Durant’s account!”
“Awesome, has he sent any incriminating pics of himself via a secure phone network that we can repost using his Twitter password?”

“Nope. It’s Kevin Durant. Teddy bears, kids, backpack shopping, whack glasses… wait, here he is smoking cherry flavoured tobacco in a water pipe!”
“No it isn’t, it’s from a spliff! Or it will be when we tell everyone on 4Chan we hacked his phone and found him smoking a spliff!”
“I like the way you think. We’re elite, dude. More Red Bull and Twizzlers?”

  • Ugh

Should we talk about the measurable data that indicates nations with centralised and state funded health care have a higher ranking and lower per capita costs than the former US health system, or would you just like to chatter some more?

  • Old man

Am I the only one who has never even heard of “hookah” smoking? When I read the headline I thought there must be some rapper or celebrity named Hookah that KD was hanging with.

  • Nick Holden

Which is exactly what he said?

  • Lonely

Yr the only one. It’s not like there’s a search engine where u can look this stuff up either, DARN IT

  • Old man

Why would I have to look it up when I’m learning about it here?

  • BigBizLie

I realize Slam is keeping my comments off the site, so I will just say this: as a white male, I can assure you all that any time another white conservative male tells you that big private business cares about the rest of the population’s access to healthcare, he is lying in the most immoral way. No government program is perfect, but those standing in the way of affordable, widespread access to healthcare care nothing for humanity.

  • pposse

strong/healthy young people 26-30 yr old range would have to spend nearly 6k on average (out of pocket) to get surgery for say an acl tear. Good luck getting that demographic to sign up for aca which btw is what the aca needs to actually work.

  • easy

Who is really stupid enough to believe that there can ever be a healthcare system that caters to it’s population in this type of capitalistic society?

From drugs to insurance, the main goal of big private business is to MAKE MONEY. Period. Caring beyond a dollar for the actual needs of the general population isn’t even on the tertiary agenda of big business. Progress in innovation is not impeded by widespread access to healthcare. Switzerland, one of the world’s leading countries in drug science, is proof of this. Maybe it is just that the inherently selfish truly cannot wrap their heads around the idea of innovation without greed as the primary motivation. That’s the lie big private pharma wants you to believe, and they have no qualms putting money over lives. (http://www.humanosphere.org/20

The biggest issue with the ACA is that it still places faith in yet another aspect of our ‘Profits Over People’ healthcare system, which is the morally bankrupt health insurance industry. Big business, the people Lakeshow believes have altruistic motives in their healthcare approach, ARE STILL winning over the needs of the population because of the ACA. Even a pro-capitalist pig like Paul La Monica agrees (http://buzz.money.cnn.com/2013…. Reforming our healthcare industry is a task so big that not even 2 presidential terms can fix, especially not with the hateful and often racist opposition Obama gets. The issue is too complex. One thing that is certain is that you cannot trust business to care about people over money. That day will never come.

  • Mars

It’s all fun and games tip you lose all your endorsements. I would be saying my phone got hacked too! Geesh!

  • Ugh

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the reason Yahoo Answers exists.

  • Ugh

I’m not actually sure what that has to do with what I posted.

  • pposse

man i give up, evertime i try to respond it gets deleted.

  • http://elevatedsportstalk.wordpress.com/ theDankerNuggets

that would be perfectly legal of him

  • Conor

The sad thing is, most American states would be fortunate to have him helping to maintain their fiscal structures.

Having said that, he’s an imbecile who shouldn’t be in office.

  • Ugh

Well, FWIW I was just trying to say that health care doesn’t need to be privatised to be cheap and functional or even good.
