A.I. To Participate in European 3-Point Contest

According to Polish media, NBA superstar Allen Iverson will participate in a three-point contest which will be held on September 19, just before European championship final game. Iverson will compete against a 36-year-old shooter from Poland, Andrzej Pluta.

    if true, oddest news of the offseason so far. the fact that Iverson, who was averaging a 25/8 (more or less) two seasons ago can not find a contract while teams still pay the likes of Mark Blount or even Pargo (who just came BACK FROM GREECE) is absurd.

    in fairness, the fact that most teams are reluctant to sign him has nothing to do with talent, i mean… damon jones still gets checks, right? the detroit fiasco is what worries everybody. he had an opportunity to showcase his capacity to adapt to a new role at this stage of his career and basically said: ”eff that”. an unhappy iverson could derail your season.

    Z: you are right, but come on, he’s not the first Nba player to think the milky way revolves around him but still gets employed. This is sad, that THE post Jordan Era player (yeah, yeah, Kob’s, Vince, Lebron, Shaq, bla bla) can’t get on a team, he’s had since late April to negotiate with possible suitors!

    I will blame the Detroit fiasco solely on Michael Curry and especially Joe Dumars. You can’t send off your best player (by far), your PG, your team leader, and expect everything to run smoothly. A.I., find a home in the NBA, please! And Michael Curry is one sorry coach. No need for him in the L.

    Not to burst your bubble Mr Andrzej Pluta but frankly, Allen Iverson is not known for his three pointers… Going up against an NBA player generates quite an audience, but it won’t mean much unless you face up against Ray Allen or Peja.. Well, unless he requested for ray ALLEN and they accidently got him ALLEN iverson :P

    I bet a million dollars that a.i.’s gonna lose the three point shootout. Just like last year and all the years he’s been in the league. He just sucks at winning, but that really means nothin to the a.i. fans. He single handily brought detroit to a .500 mediocre squad. But that’s how all of his squads roll, losing.

    Playboi is a pedestrian watcher. To say AI riuned detroits season and that AI is not a winner, you watch to much of the media and sour people who are scared to admit that the times have changed and the face of professional sports isn’t always gonna be traditional..

    In the 3pt contest of the polish 2008 allstargame Pluta got 25/30 shots, with an 8 made shots streak. Good Luck AI :P But that will not stop me from being there in an Iverson tee and getting his autograph on it ^^

    The only person responsible for ai not finding a team is ai. he cannot be the best player on a championship team so he wants to be the man in a playoff contending team. He had his chance in philly to be the man but besides one finals appearance, he did a poor job. The epidemy of selfish is ai. Btw if he came off the bench he would win the 6 man of the year award
