Skullcandy To Release All-Star Aviator Headphones

From our friends at Skullcandy:

Skullcandy is warmed up for basketball’s biggest weekend with a triple-double release of Special Edition NBA All-Star Aviator headphones, for both fans and players.

During All-Star Weekend only – February 18-20 — a limited number of brown and gold version Special Edition Aviators, featuring ear caps laser-etched with the Official NBA All-Star and LA2011 logos, will be available exclusively at Los Angeles area Apple Stores. Price: $179.95.

While spotlights, cameras and monocles from around the globe bum-rush the Game and add more congestion to Los Angeles, Skullcandy will be presenting the NBA’s 24 All-Star athletes with personalized versions of Special Edition Aviators, in both all-white and all-black colorways. The ear caps of each player’s headphones are laser-etched with his personal signature and jersey number.

Damn. What happened to the days when normal, middle-class folks could actually afford some decent headphones??
Also, I always thought it was funny how the richer someone is, the more free sh*t they get.

Derrick Rose already has a pair of these, so now he’s going to get an extra pair.
When you get to be famous you get so much free stuff. And you don’t even need it anymore.

Haha co-sign Enigmatic. Skull Candy is plain dumb (or sadly smart…) to charge that much for a pair of headphones, but the people buying their sh!t are even dumber. Also, Beats by Dr. Dre must be one of the biggest cons ever in the techie business. Charge as much as a freaking I-Pod for some ugly @ss headphones?

I used to work in a recording studio, so I know a bit about headphones. Skullcandy have terrible sound quality – they’re lousy value for money. Pretty much anything in the Sennheiser HD200 range destroys them and are around half the price.

@Ugh even Bose knock the crap out of these.

What people forget is that class is understated, it doesn’t need to be shouted about.
These headphones may not be as flashy as a Bose, but they are all paint and no substance; class wins the day.
People who pay this much for them are idiots, the quality is shockingly bad.

*may be more flashy than Bose, sorry

@Ugh–dude your true on that. I went to bestbuy and was going to get some dr. dre’s but this guy in their music dept told me to try on the sennheiser 380 pro… for $200 vs $350 I was blown away at how good they are. SENNHEISER IS BEAST MODE AND CHEAP

I don’t get why everybody is calling the people that have these headphones idiots. I understand they are a little expensive but if you have the money you can do whatever you want with it. And no I dont have skull candy i got dr. dre headphones and i only paid 150 for them. It was my choice and I don’t think I’m a idiot. LOL
