Top 10 Junior Ricardo Ledo Reopens Recruitment

One of the top 10 juniors in the nation is back on the recruiting market. Ricardo Ledo, a 6-6 shooting guard from Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, made the decision on Monday. Ledo, who is of Puerto Rican descent, gave the Providence Friars a verbal commitment on Christmas Day, but now a little over a month later Ledo decided to de-commit and reopen his recruitment through his Twitter account. “I’m no longer a Providence Friar,” Ledo tweeted. “I decided to open my recruitment back up and view my other options.” He reportedly will be looking to tryout for the Puerto Rican national team, who recently hired Louisville’s Rick Pitino. Louisville is expected to go after Ledo, along with state-rival Kentucky.

By all means, these kids have the right to go wherever they want to so long as the school they want wants them also, BUT…. some of these kids need to learn the meaning of the word “commitment”. Is it too much to ask to wait until you’re really, really sure before saying yes to a school?

Co Sign Enigmatic. Whatever happened to being a man of your word? But by all means I’d love to see the kid at Louisville over Kentucky.

That’s just it, they’re not men yet so how they be men of their word?

if a man was true to his word there would be no need for signing that dotted line

Well, a junior in high school is not a man.
But a 16 year old kid should still know what “commitment” really means.

Now heres a good conversation, if you gentlemen don’t mind I’m gonna throw in a few renches, although I do agree a mans word should be binding.
Now rench 1: Single parent homes with little or no structure… rench 2:Family financial hard times young child has been responcibility bread winner…rench 3 Confused about recruiting process no guidence from no one who understands it or knows LOI dead lines. The 3rd is mainly the reason, the question is why parent & youth reserch before giving a commitment.

So what he changed his mind coaches leave all the time. The only thing he needs to worry about is making the best decision for him and his family.
