Layup Lines: Summertime

Big Willy Style

Never got as pumped to play a game as I did when a hard beat would come on during layup lines before tip-off. Not to say today’s throwback jam was a go-to before going to battle on the court, but it’s the first day of summer so it works.

On a more random note, I caught Saved by the Bell this morning on TBS. Classic show. What did ya’ll like more: Fresh Prince or Saved by the Bell? I’ll give the edge to Fresh Prince but it’s close.

A lot of people only remember Jazzy Jeff as the dim-witted sidekick to Will Smith’s character in Fresh Prince, but he’s a dope hip hop producer with legendary DJ’ing skills. For reference, check out The Magnificent Vol 1 & 2.

I remember Slam by Onyx, Bowdoin College used to come out to that when I was a kid and I would get so hyped.

“on my fresh prince sh*t, house shoes & baggy sweats, still throw a b*tch out the crib like she Jazzy Jeff”

Try playing some Zack Attack in your next layup line and tell me it doesn’t get you 100 times more pumped than Summertime does.

yo, this show was a huge part of my childhood, every day after school put on channel 17 and watched the Fresh Prince. Fresh Prince > Saved by the Bell, no contest.

    Can’t watch it..

Fresh prince of course. I still watch that show when it comes on, I cant say the same for saved by the bell although lark voorhies was sexy as hell (cant believe my man zack morris was hitting that for 3 years).

I luved both shows. Growing up, I liked Saved by the Bell the best tho. But now, as an adult, I find The Fresh Prince funnier. I crack up everytime I c Carlton bust out his dance. “Two miles an hour so everybody see’s u”. Dopeness!
