This whole song is dope, but from favorite part is
“And in the darkness, I’m heartless like when the narcs hit
Word to Marcus Garvey I hardly sparked it
Cause when I blast the herb, that’s my word
I be slayin them fast, doing this that and the third”

One of the first rap records I really liked.

Wish all his albums were this good…

“One Mic” is the best rap song ever in my opinion

Not even close, add. But like you said, it’s your opinion.
O
Ghetto Dreams was off the meatrack. Sidenote, does ANYONE have the mp3 to that song, “No Love Lost”? Shaq feat. Lord Tariqu, Nas and Jay-Z. That joint was dope even with Shaq on it. I had it on a mixtape, but when Shaq dropped his album – like anyone would feature Shaq on THEIR album – Nas’ verse mysteriously disappeared. That joint had the whole hood from Brooklyn to Queens arguing on who had the better verse, Jay or Nas. Great song.
@Enigmatic I think it’s pretty close between Illmatic and Ready To Die for Best Album. Both albums are so well-rounded that you love just about every song on them.

KRS-One might be the best rapper ever, imo.

Tough to say though.

Completely unrelated (I should have posted this under the Triumph thread) but who do you guys think is the best member of Wu-Tang?
CP3NOLA
IMO GZA’s the best out of the Wu, Liquid Swords was just dark and plain lyricism, there’s definitely arguments for Rae, Ghost or Meth, but remember the Wu form like Voltron and GZA became the head ya know
Riggs
ghetto dreams is commons track, not nas’.

“Life’s a b!tch” is my fav Nas song ever. As far as albums go, Bone Thugs “East 1999 Eternal” is my fav of all time. Speaking of which, how bout sum BTNH up n here?

@BlackPhantom – For me, personally, Illmatic gets the nod over Ready to Die because I always used to skip like one or two tracks when playing Ready to Die, but Illmatic I could just pop in the disc and let it play all the way through. Even the intro “Genesis” with its “Wild Style” and “Live at the BBQ” samples were dope.
Illmatic was only about 48 minutes long and yet I would sit and listen to more of that album than I would albums that were over 80 minutes long but had some wack tracks and tons of filler.
@Teddy – that’s a tough one. I think Inspectah Deck and GZA were the best lyricists, but Ghostface had the better solo albums, Raekwon had the most influential album of the bunch (Only Built 4 Cuban Linx) but to me the most important member is by far the RZA. So he’s probably my favorite.
