NBA to Fine Teams $1 Million for Contacting Players During Lockout?

The League is reportedly taking a very hard line with teams should they risk contacting NBA players during this lockout. From ESPN: “League office taking hard stand. Has told teams contact w/players after midnight = $1 million fine. And more.”

We are now seeing the very ugly side of the NBA. We all knew it was there but the all the turds are floating to the top of the bowl.

@bike it even gets uglier bro, if you have talked to ex-players or retired executives who have retired from game, they can tell you how truly ugly the behind the scenes stuff is.

while the players are crowing this united we stand bs… billy hunter is laughing all the way to the bank because he is still getting paid, and even admitted that this was his expectation from two to three years ago…. he does not care about game and its time for fans to take control and go on strike also for a whole year and see how these jokers do with empty arenas and no one watching games..

You mean the same teams the NBA has been complaining are losing money?

  • J.C.

Does this mean just players from other teams/free agents, or are you not allowed to contact players from your own team either?

@bull22, you can go on strike. I’ll just find something else to do until they start playing again. It’s just entertainment. You’re acting like being able to watch professional basketball games is like having electricity or water. You don’t have other hobbies and interests to pass the time when you’re not working or sleeping?

@lahuey, thats the point of the fans locking them out, find something else to do for the next two seasons and see where this league will sitting financially! love to see this happen so the owners and players see how important the fanbase is.. yeah its entertainment, but the fans need to start showing their POWER and all of us should go fishing the next two seasons.

You’re way more passionate than a reasonable person should be. I agree, it’ll kinda suck if October rolls around and the world’s finest basketball players aren’t playing but I’m not going to be bitter about it. An NBA season is like a new Jay-Z album to me: I expect one every year but I’m not going to be all salty and boycott if it comes later than I had hoped.

  • Sigh..

This is just making the lockout worse by taking even more money from owners
