Does J.Cole actually know Jay-Z personally? I bet $100 that none of you can find 3 pictures of him and Jay-Z together

I remember first hearing this song last summer. I thought it was about me, haha. J. Cole is the best new MC for sure. He’s got that story-telling ability – not like whack a** Lil Wayne and his random sentences that don’t make any sense.
He’s a good breath of fresh air for the future of Hip-Hop, I was saying the same thing for Wale, but he just joined Maybach Music(terrible career move)

I agree, BlackPhantom. Cole’s flow is nice, if his album has the right production on it, it could be a solid debut.
And Cole lyrically ran circles around Wale on Wale’s “Beautiful Bliss”.
Also, were you requesting Rage Against the Machine yesterday? I’d be down for that, no doubt, but too many heads on here probably wouldn’t be feeling it.
Schneezy you gotta get some Elzhi and Cormega on here! GangStarr too. Sh*t, there’s a bunch of others I could think of, but these cats gotta hear Elzhi rip apart the mic on “Motown 25”.
@Enigmatic Yeah, I was. Zack is just so underrated, but then again a good bit of people on this site don’t listen to a huge variety of music like I or you do. And Man…..Elzhi is a freakin’ beast. I listened to Elmatic yesterday and was amazed by it. Wale really expressed potential with Attention Deficit, but his new material is probably gonna go through a dumb down. Gang Starr is one of my all-time favorite duos.

Giving my BOY COLE some recognnition! Heard this track a minute ago, but still really nice…My man J.Cole, respect SLAM! “i used to read em twice and cut the pictures out, had the jordan free throw dunk toungue sticking out, focus trying figure out, ‘should i leave it here or move it there?’ even had the shit on the ceiling i had to use a chair”

Phantom, if you’ve never heard of him check out Theory Hazit’s album “Extra Credit”. Technically he’s labeled as a “Christian rapper”, but he’s not preachy or anything, and actually many fans of Christian rap don’t like him being labeled a Christian rapper because he doesn’t speak on religion much.
But that album has some great beats on it and dude raps pretty good. I don’t even remember where I first heard of him but glad I got that album.
Also, I think you might like Blu and Exile’s “Below the Heavens”. At the very least, check out “In Remembrance of Me” and “Soul Amazing”. Beautiful stuff.
Fashawn’s “Boy Meets World”, that’s another good one.
Yeah, we both seem to have a nice eclectic mix of genres we like. Always glad to see people who love music in general, not just one or two genres. Man, I can even sit down with straight up southern good ol’ boys and speak on like Outlaw Country music and Bluegrass, long as it’s good I listen to it all.

Also, if you’re into that kind of stuff, one of the most depressing rap songs I ever heard that very few people know about was CEL-D’s “Trials of Life”, it touched on subjects like child abuse that you don’t really hear about in rap music.
I’ve only been able to find it on itunes but it’s worth listening to.

I had that Tim Duncan pic sitting on the ice throne like George Gervin on my wall. And Barry Bonds for a minute.

Damn, Enigmatic, your discog is eerily similar to mine. If you like those albums, check out Cunninlynguists’ “Oneirology” or Kno’s “Death is Silent”.

If you like good music, listen to the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
