LeBron James Practiced With the Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary Football Team

We knew LeBron James used to play football, and between this and the pick-up game he hopped in a couple weeks ago, looks like Bron’s itching to get back on the field. Via FOX8: “So far this season the Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary football team has been ready for anything that came their way on the football field, that was until Tuesday. Members of the state’s third ranked Division III team were shocked when two-time NBA MVP LeBron James showed up for practice wearing full pads and took part in the late afternoon session. ‘I not gonna lie, it was pretty cool to see him out there,’ said starting quarterback Kevin Besser. James borrowed the equipment and jersey of #13 Clayton Uecker, who did not practice today due to injury. Uecker is also the tallest player on the SVSM roster at 6’5″. SVSM running back Sae’Von Fitzgerald said James looked just like every other member of the team with a helmet on. ‘He wore everything. Shoulder pads, helmet, visor… everything,’ said Fitzgerald. But when it came to tackling, James was off limits. ‘Our defensive backs were allowed to jam him at the line of scrimmage,’ said Fitzgerald. ‘But he took no contact after that. Coach [Dan Borman] said we shouldn’t tackle him.’ While James looked like one of the guys, according to Besser, he didn’t play like one. ‘He caught everything, he didn’t drop a pass,’ the quarterback said. ‘I probably threw six or seven passes his way and he went up and got everything.’

It’s great that he made an appearance at his alma mater. Probably made those kids’ day. On the flip side, nobody is impressed with a 26YO man (who is a beast among his peers) dominating a football game with high schoolers while getting special no-tackle rules.

    I bet he traveled

No it was a crab-fumble. lol

James true love is football! That’s why his BB IQ is low, it isn’t his true love. What I want to know is why did he choose BB over FB? Does anyone know? He won’t reply to my tweet when I ask him, lol.

@Red Star Lebron’s BB IQ is low???? even non believers like me know he actually has a pretty high BB IQ.

@Red Star, an NBA star can bank way more over a career than an NFL stud. Also, consider the toll professional football takes on a body and injury risks compared to a professional basketball player.

Great PR move Lebron keep it going, but you cannot escape you choking every 4th qtr in the Finals. This is overrated, Lebron needs to be working on his post game and crab dribble. BOOK IT!!

I gotta admit, LeBron at TE is a pretty scary sight. He would be perfect for that position, absolutely perfect, think Antonio Gates(a former basketball player, as well as Jimmy Graham who’s a rising star for the saints and Drew Brees’ favorite target), but bigger, just as strong, faster and Calvin Johnson-like leaping ability, great hands and very good awareness, the only big problems I see are blocking, which is obviously very important at the TE position, experience, could he grasp an NFL offense? since he only played HS football, and in football college experience is waaayyy more important than it is in hoops.

He will be a pro bowler at tight end with a 10 year career without college football experience because he is a freak of nature and would probably do the same at defensive end if put his mind to it. the world has never seen an athlete of his stature with strength, speed, agility and athletic ability come on be real he’s 6’9 270lbs easily with a 40″ vertical and i’m willing to be he can run the 40 yard dash at least at 4.55. Come on so stop hating and i’m a true KOBE fan but would love to see him lined up on Sundays withe Calvin Johnson and the Detroit Lions.
