Video: Pietrus Gives Gasol The Hulk SMASH!

“The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets.”

by Ryne Nelson

You may have made up your own name for Pietrus’ flagrant foul on Pau Gasol by now: The Flying Double Fists. The Double Axe Handle Fist Smack. The Donkey Kong Super Barrel Gold Banana Smash.

I have my own: The Hulk SMASH!

Like Bruce Banner when he’s in his enraged green state, Pietrus had the intent to harm. The replay shows it all — a wind-up, a clear push with two closed fists, no intent on the ball. If that’s not enough evidence for suspension, look at how he followed it up by talking smack to Gasol.

The NBA plans to review the flagrant foul today, but Marc Stein reports Pietrus should only receive a fine:

Anything more severe than a fine in this case is believed to be unlikely, but players and coaches have grown accustomed this postseason to waiting for the outcome of the review. Entering the Finals, 14 flagrant fouls in these playoffs had either been upgraded, downgraded or assessed retroactively on fouls that weren’t ruled flagrant during the game via the review process.

Some will argue the League should review Kobe’s ‘bow to Nelson’s jaw a couple possessions prior, but the play acts as a complete foil to Pietrus’ flagrant foul. Pietrus closed his fists, wound up, shoved Gasol in the back while he was in the air, and talked smack afterward. Nelson, if anything, ran into Kobe’s elbow before Kobe knew he was there. The contact with Nelson was clearly unintentional on Bryant’s part.

If we look at some of the plays that warranted suspension during the Playoffs this year, Pietrus should be sitting out Game 5. But consistency hasn’t exactly been the League’s strong point.

i don’t think the elbow was all that unintentional … but nevertheless, pietrus did a whole lot worse and should be suspended for it.

  • thesubwayconnection Posted: Jun.12 at 10:21 am
As to Kobe’s elbow, Pau caught one earlier in the game. Let those go. Pietrus’s foul? If a suspension happens, the Magic have no chance of winning Game 5. As for the picture that accompanied this link, I laughed so hard I woke up my roommate.

  • Freedom Fries Posted: Jun.12 at 10:24 am
Ok if that warrants a suspension then so do all of Kobe’s constipation faces – go dump a log already or get your dentures fixed kob.

  • Jeff Fox Posted: Jun.12 at 10:27 am
Man, do I long for the good ol days of the NBA when a foul like that wouldn’t even be given a second thought.

  • Clockwork Posted: Jun.12 at 10:31 am
Trash talk with french and spanish accents, it doesn’t get any more real than that.

  • Spaceship Jay Posted: Jun.12 at 10:31 am
What are your summer plans after the Lakers get this chip Freedom Fries? I enjoy reading solid points in flaws and mistakes in player’s games, but I seem to think of peoples comments related to anything else to be a little… odd.

  • Clockwork Posted: Jun.12 at 10:34 am
looks like Pietrus was trying to shove 2 imaginary daggers in Gasol’s back

  • Mendel Posted: Jun.12 at 10:35 am
The Funniest part is Gasol acting like he is going to do something about it.

  • Freedom Fries Posted: Jun.12 at 10:35 am
What Jeff said. That’s the kind of play where the coach yells at the player, they don’t need big daddy league to help them out. What is this mania stateside to infantilize adults all the time?

  • Z Posted: Jun.12 at 10:36 am
Jeff, those good old days never existed. Unless you’re talking about the 50s-60s.

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.12 at 10:38 am
Jeff: uh…. the 30s? Don’t tell me you’re going to go all “old man Eboy” on us and start telling us you could punch someone in the face and get called for a blocking foul in the 90s.

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.12 at 10:38 am
Damn, Z beat me to it.

  • riggs Posted: Jun.12 at 10:39 am
The FUNNIEST part is kobe thinking he was going to do something. must be those mean streets of italy running through him.

  • Hisham Posted: Jun.12 at 10:39 am
    Pau: COÑO!!!
    MP: CON!

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.12 at 10:40 am
Also, Gasol would have killed Pietrus. Dude’s like twice his size.

  • Freedom Fries Posted: Jun.12 at 10:42 am
Spacey Jay thanks for asking – actually first thing I do is call up my boy in Madrid (who’s from LA) congratulate him for his Spaniard and then remind him that Kobe is regressing as a human being. Bring up the fact that LA won’t get anywhere near close next year (just wait for the off season and what happens – you think egos are bad now . . . just wait) – that is unless they start Sasha j/k. Then head off to the beach to soak up some rays and try to see if I can find some decent friggin hoop shoes here in France (for now its mission impossible). How bout you?

  • Eboy Posted: Jun.12 at 10:42 am
I always forget that Jukai never watched NBA ball before 1995.

  • Orlando Green Posted: Jun.12 at 10:43 am
The foul was fking dirty. However, it doesnt warrant a suspension. Then again, as a Laker fan, I love to see him out of game 5.

  • Fat Lever Posted: Jun.12 at 10:45 am
HAHAHAHAH, Pau had the Raquel Welch No Arm Movement dance moves going there. You see that? They were glued to his sides, not going anywhere. “Scarsdale Surprise”

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.12 at 10:46 am
Eboy, remember when you asked me to look up Rodman and Brickowski and what they’d do to each other without any calls… and all I could find was them attacking other and getting TECHNICALS?
    I remember that time too!

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.12 at 10:48 am
Hey guys, remember whem Kermit Washington punched Rudy Tomjanovich in the face and shattered it, and the ref called it a foul in the act of shooting and had Rudy shoot two free-throws with his face falling off? Man, THOSE were the days.

  • larrylegend Posted: Jun.12 at 10:50 am
gasol killing pietrus…not in this world. i go with the donkey kong smash.

  • Eboy Posted: Jun.12 at 10:51 am
Youtube Boy is preserving the game, one video at a time.

  • Freedom Fries Posted: Jun.12 at 10:52 am
Yeah, you wouldn’t want to get too close to those books Jukai, you might actually learn something. Practice your keyboard skills instead – way to get ahead in lyph.

  • James the balla Posted: Jun.12 at 10:52 am
lol at Jukai. I never did like Jukai. But I do now… funny as he11!!

  • KOBESBESTFRIEND Posted: Jun.12 at 11:00 am
THE SPANIARD WOULDA DESTROYED PEPE LE PUE

  • maddskizzle Posted: Jun.12 at 11:00 am
Jukai must be Spanish. Gasol taking Pietrus? Are you serious? Really? Put down the pipe, senor, because yous gettin locoooo

  • Jhonny Ray Posted: Jun.12 at 11:07 am
The Funniest part is Gasol acting like he is going to do something about it. ……..
Asshole! So Gasol keeps himself under control ’cause he’s relevant for his team, for me the MVP of the finals keepin’ Superman more in a Superboy mode, and is acting?? Losing Pietrus, wich is as much of a crap as his twin playing in Spain means nothing…..Gasol is a cornerstone on his team so he gotta control himself in order to play the next game and win the Ring…. Pietrus better go and learn to play the bongos with those angry fists!! Trash talk with french and spanish accents, it doesn’t get any more real than that………
And you can’t be more IGNORANT than that comment…ASSHOLE #2….

  • AR Posted: Jun.12 at 11:12 am
Pau is acting uncharacteristically manly in these finals.

  • doyouwantmore Posted: Jun.12 at 11:16 am
The elbow was intentional. It’s his go-to move when the game is on the line.

  • Allenp Posted: Jun.12 at 11:20 am
I can’t believe cats are complaining so much about Kobe’s elbow to Jameer.
The one he threw at Dwight during their little scrum was much more of a problem.
The Jameer one was fair and square. Kobe moved on pivot foot, Jameer tried to crowd him and got one to the chops for his trouble. They TEACH you to do that when you play ball.

  • Adam Fleischer Posted: Jun.12 at 11:26 am
So Pau all of a sudden becomes a some hard a$$ when he’s got the game on lock? Come on, man.

  • MeloMan22 Posted: Jun.12 at 11:26 am
@Jukai: are u serious?? Gasol beating Pietris?? Gasol is one of the biggest biatches in the game, and Pietris is FRENCH!!

  • bbaby Posted: Jun.12 at 11:41 am
I’m gonna back Pietrus on this one. The dunk isn’t necessary when you are 3.4 seconds away from winning. Nobody should be suspended for a Game 4.

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.12 at 11:50 am
I guess the confusion here is when people see a person like Perkins push Gasol, and you see Gasol go freaking FLYING, I guess they assume Gasol is made out of paper. The truth is, there rarely ever is a push, just Gasol flinging himself in every which direction to get the foul call. Gasol must have over four inches and thirty/fourty pounds on the dude. Did you see the way he kept Dwight from getting easy baskets last night? Just cause he has no balls mentally, doesn’t mean he isn’t strong. He’s a power forward, he’s battling other dudes in the paint. Pietrus is a freaking jump shooter who rarely gets contact. Pepe Le Pew would be knocked out right away.
I’ll remind you that Gasol is HISPANIC and not WHITE, if that helps.

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.12 at 11:53 am
Also, was Freedom Fries telling me I have to read more or something? I didn’t know my third grade elementry school teacher posted on the SLAM, cool! How you doing, Ms. Kaponstone!
I also like the idea of Eboy knowing all these ‘plays’ that ‘happened’ but apparently have no written or video evidence of them ever happening. No one in the world saw them, except for Eboy, because Eboy is all knowing.

  • Allenp Posted: Jun.12 at 11:53 am
You can be Hispanic and be white.
Hispanic means you’re of Spanish descent, it has nothing to do with what color you are.
    Lol.

  • Izzo Posted: Jun.12 at 11:56 am
Jukai:You need to re-read the SLAMonline commenters logic 101 manual:white people are in the NBA for hilarity, not basketball. They will never win a fight, even if they are going up against whisp thin opponents at least 40 pounds lighter than them.Gasol is a ‘white looking for’ner’,which only goes to compound his perceived girliness.

  • Brian Posted: Jun.12 at 11:58 am
Watch Gasol ball his fists like a girl after “the shove”. All this suspension stuff is weak.

  • cb 34 Posted: Jun.12 at 11:59 am
jukai; cmon man! air france would have put his ass to the ground. Mickael’s a tough dude and never backs down. Never seen him get into a fight but i’ve seen him get in somebody’s face and he wouldn’t back down.Wouldn’t matter if it was ant mason or oak. It’s like saying jr smith would have kicked nate’s ass back at the rumble in the garden. Won’t happen. Nate would have beaten him like a red headed stepchild. Same with pietrus and gasol.

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.12 at 12:04 pm
Allenp: Hispanic means you’re of spanish decent, but if you’re not fully of spanish decent, you’re not fully hispanic. If my father is from Spain, and my mother is from Latvia, I’m only PART Hispanic. If only my grandfather is from Spain, I’m 1/4th hispanic. Gasol is pretty much fully Spanish. So he’s not white.
And Izzo’s more or less on ball.

  • Zee! Posted: Jun.12 at 12:04 pm
    One more game….

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.12 at 12:05 pm
CB34: Well, since Gasol’s ‘bump’ to Air France’s body sent the dude tumbling back five inches, I’m going to just have to disagree with you there.
Also, you think Nate Robinson could beat up JR Smith…?

  • Jeff Fox Posted: Jun.12 at 12:07 pm
I’m not saying it isn’t a foul or a technical, it’s just in the past that play would hardly cause anyone to blink an eye, let alone call for him to be suspended.

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.12 at 12:13 pm
Jeff: ehhh not saying I completely agree, but at least you’re a lot more agreeable now that you’ve clarified.

  • Enigmatic Posted: Jun.12 at 12:13 pm
People from Spain are NOT hispanic. They’re white.

  • Enigmatic Posted: Jun.12 at 12:15 pm
    Is this thing working?

  • Enigmatic Posted: Jun.12 at 12:16 pm
    Apparently..it is. My bust.

  • cb 34 Posted: Jun.12 at 12:17 pm
jukai: Yeah nate would kill jr!

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.12 at 12:19 pm
CB34: you should probably have your brain checked. Sooner the better.

  • Yann Blavec's wife's husband Posted: Jun.12 at 12:22 pm
Jukai : Hitler would never had helped Franco during the spanish civil war if Spanish people hadn’t been white. Spanish are white.

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.12 at 12:25 pm
Yann: If I remember correctly, Germany and Japan were allies in World War II. Are asians white?

  • Izzo. Posted: Jun.12 at 12:26 pm
    Please stop.Please.

  • Allenp Posted: Jun.12 at 12:26 pm
    Jukai
And if the only thing important in a fight was reach and pounds, than Mike Tyson’s career probably would have been a lot less successful.

  • cb 34 Posted: Jun.12 at 12:27 pm
jukai: And you should probably stay off the crack , pal. I can’t even think of ten players kung pau could take on. Not including the smaller pg’s in the league. He’s tall, he’s highly skilled and he tries to be tough but he physically can’t. I’m a gasol fan so this is no diss but you leave him and pietrus in a room together and i bet ya mickael would whoop his a**!

  • Allenp Posted: Jun.12 at 12:27 pm
    Jukai
Reach and weight are not the most important things in a fight.
    See Mike Tyson.

  • cb 34 Posted: Jun.12 at 12:32 pm
co-sign allenp. That’s why i wish that nuggets/ knicks brawl wasn’t stopped and we could have watched nate pulverize jr. I can’t even see why he thinks jr will win simply because he’s taller.

  • Allenp Posted: Jun.12 at 12:32 pm
    Dammit, I’m getting comments eaten.
    Hope this works.
Jukai, the Census bureau designates Hispanic non-white or Hispanic white.
When did being white depend on what country you’re from?
And why would Spain not fit the guidelines for being a white country?
It’s European, it’s citizens are often light-skinned. Why is Spain on the outside, but England, France and Italy make the cut?
    Who decides these rules?

  • underdog Posted: Jun.12 at 12:34 pm
Kobe’s elbow in Nelson’s mouth has nothing to do with a flagrant foul, but the Magic will pay the cost of Pietrus’ not-too-smart mistake.

  • Ed Posted: Jun.12 at 12:35 pm
Spaniards are considered white because they are European. That is why some Latinos here in the Western Hemisphere put up a sh@t storm when they are called “Hispanic” Not this race stuff matters anyway. We all come from the same creator…Kobe Bryant.

  • James the balla Posted: Jun.12 at 12:35 pm
I actually agree 100 percent with everything Jukai has said today. Gasol, round 3 KO.

  • ciroqobama Posted: Jun.12 at 12:48 pm
Co-sign Kryptonate taking out JR. Wouldn’t even be close.

  • AR Posted: Jun.12 at 12:51 pm
Allenp:There are many different ethnicities in Spain(Basque,Catalan,North African),but most Spanish originate from the Iberian and are thus Iberian. This differs greatly from the Celtic and Norman origins of places like England and France.Plus has anyone here ever been to Spain and seen the people? Most I wouldn’t classify as ‘white’.Not that I would classify anyone either black or white, that’s absurd. It’s about ethnicities.

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.12 at 12:54 pm
Allenp & co: I guess I’ll have to concede with you on this one, I have seen ‘hispanic non-white’ and ‘hispanic-white.’ I guess looking half Latino and half White puts you on the white side of things.
That’s all I’ll concede. JR Smith would kill Robinson. When has Tyson ever fought someone eight inches taller than he is? Reach is huge, it’s less of a deal in boxing but a HUGE deal in sports like UFC, where a greater form of combat is allowed. But, I mean, ignoring that fact, JR Smith was raised in sh*thell New Jersey, while Robinson was raised mostly in mid-Cali.
I still don’t see the logic that Pietrus could destroy Gasol either. Gasol’s WIMPY on offense. He flops. I have never seen Gasol back down from going after someone after being wronged. I mean, just watch the game last night. He’s barely moving when Dwight posts him up, and Pietrus damn near WOUND UP to pound Gasol’s back, and from the replay, it looks like Gasol barely moved. A weaker player would have been thrown from the basket.
But whatever. Let’s set up a cage match and see who wins. I want slam on this.

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.12 at 1:04 pm
I mean, christ, look at the video. Pietrus WINDS BACK and THROWS HIS ARMS DOWN on Gasol’s back. This wasn’t a ‘hard foul.’ This was done on purpose, to hurt Gasol, as you can indicate with Pietrus screaming at him immediately afterwards. Pietrus swings his arms back and hits Gasol in the back, arms on the way down at full sprint (and one can assume he put a fair amount of power in it, since he was trying to hurt Gasol).
Gasol keeps holding the basket and lands without pain.
You REALLLLLLY think Pietrus can beat up on Gasol? Really?

  • ciroqobama Posted: Jun.12 at 1:25 pm
Jukai…. Nate played football his whole life. JR? He’s shot 40 foot 3’s his whole life, practiced posing, & spit on women. GTFOH with his alleged tough NJ background. Nate in round 1

  • Tarzan Cooper Posted: Jun.12 at 1:41 pm
“Nelson, if anything, ran into Kobe’s elbow before Kobe knew he was there. The contact with Nelson was clearly unintentional on Bryant’s part.” ryno, ARE YOU ON FN CRACK?!?! KOBE IS STANDING STILL WATCHING JAMEER COMES TOWARDS HIM, RAISES ELBOWS, AND GOES DIRECTLY AT HIS CHIN, KNOWING THE REFS WOULDNT CALL IT ON HIM, WATCH IT FROM THE TOP OR BASELINE CAMERA, ITS QUITE OBVIOUS

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.12 at 1:41 pm
I’m guessing Nate wasn’t an All-American football player, no?

  • luke Posted: Jun.12 at 1:42 pm
Gasol is just a major puss…trying to act hard cause he knows nothing will be done to him on a basketball court…meet Pietrus outside after the game and you wouldnt do that.He couldnt fight his way out of a plastic bag.

  • Remo Williams Posted: Jun.12 at 2:01 pm
    riiiiiiight.
and piecrust wouldve done this on a court in new york because he’s so gangster. it was a biatch move. he shouldnt have done that

  • Darksaber Posted: Jun.12 at 2:04 pm
i am no laker fan, and have only realized how gifted Pau is on Offense since this allstar break, but THAT WAS A DIRTY PLAY! If the Nba can dish out all kinds of flagrants (Rafer’s “lovetap” on Eddie House comes to mind) well then Pietrus deserves a two game suspension. And Pau was VERY clever not to retaliate, i even think the T he got was an insult. So i get hammered and i can’t tell the dude where i’m gonna ram my fist if he tries that ish again? Lame reaction by the refs, especially since Pietrus tried to hurt him.

  • kevingarnettslegs Posted: Jun.12 at 2:10 pm
@luke - i believe the expression is for a paper bag. based on the honor demonstrated by pietrus in the video, i would assume he goes for the balls and run approach in fights and is therefore not really a threat “outside after the game.” its funny how many haters have this wild imagined lack of toughness OUTSIDE of the basketball court for all laker players, as if getting into fights is something to be applauded. as if thugs in the nba is a good thing. people that like fights aren’t good people.

  • JoNaBo Posted: Jun.12 at 2:36 pm
Yo SLAM, why don’t you put up real highlights
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2bXZKJ9isg&feature=channel_page

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.12 at 2:44 pm
    hahaha piecrust. I like that.

  • ciroqobama Posted: Jun.12 at 2:51 pm
Easy Hater…All-American or not getting banged up everyday by Pac-10 athletes on both the football field and basketball court is gonna better prepare u for a fight than sh1t talking high school kids in Jersey.

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.12 at 3:07 pm
    ciroqobama: Uh, no, not always.

  • ciroqobama Posted: Jun.12 at 3:13 pm
Jukai: Good argument, you really impressed me with that post dbag

  • JoeMaMa Posted: Jun.12 at 3:13 pm
Pietrus beats up Pau. If he looks like a flopper and acts like a flopper….do you all of a sudden think he’s going to be a good swinger? No deal.
On a side note, Mbenga beats up everyone.

  • Dutch Rich Posted: Jun.12 at 3:16 pm
Spanish people are hairy and have smelly feet. Smelly enuff to knock a grown man out….. In how many rounds, I don’t know! Black people however rarely have much body hair and they often like to knock people out. White people smell like ham get drunk and then like to knock people out or like to talk about knocking people out after which they often get knocked out. Asian people even though often short can grow to extreme heights. Who did I miss?

  • iep Posted: Jun.12 at 3:18 pm
    Spanish: 1. from spain (state)
    2. Spain state´s official language.
Hispanic: Nations where they speak spanish. Don`t have any relation with race. There are white people, black, “brown”, arabic, and mixtures. clarifications: Spain is not a real nation, it is a state. Inside spain there are several nations, languages and cultures.
In reality spanish is the language of Castilla, and it is called “castellano”.Castilla conquered a lot of nations in europe and america. Gasol is polically spanish, but his nationality isn´t, he is from barcelona (catalunya). Catalunya has its own language (català) and culture. All spaniards are white,in the south of spain they have a lot of arabic ancestors (there was an arabic empire for more than 500 years there). Catalunya (Gasol`s nation) is in the north, they have culturally more relation with france or italy than with “spain”, and yes they are white like most of the europeans.

  • maddskizzle Posted: Jun.12 at 3:33 pm
    The Dutch, you idiot.
    Not funny.

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.12 at 3:37 pm
ciroqobama: Look douchenozzle, I’ve presented you with enough evidence to back up my claim. Lil’ Nate played football? Great. He wasn’t terribly good at it, at least not on the level of his track and field and basketball exploits. He’s giving up 45 pounds and eight inches to Smith, which is insane, and grew up in relatively decent areas, unlike JR, who grew up in areas where it’d tough to get through without getting in your fair share of scraps. EIGHT INCHES TALLER, GREW UP IN THE SLUMPS OF NEW JERSEY. Sorry if I have doubts Nate Robinson could beat fight for even two minutes.

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.12 at 3:44 pm
that’s right, beat fight, I wont even correct that last sentence!

  • Ryne Nelson Posted: Jun.12 at 3:45 pm
@JoNaBo: We mostly don’t post “real” highlights because they’re already everywhere else. Plus, what is there to discuss about that Kobe-to-Gasol play you just linked to?

  • JoNaBo Posted: Jun.12 at 3:52 pm
That was a sick pass in the clutch that was crazily overlooked. I’m jus sayin’

  • Jukai Posted: Jun.12 at 3:52 pm
Ryne: that kobe actually does pass. Occassionally.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Jun.12 at 4:18 pm
Co-sign Jeff Fox. Are Jukai and Z ACTUALLY trying to deny the fact that the NBA has become a lot less physical and a lot more strict on fouls/flagrants? Come on now.
And yes, those “good ol’ days” did exist. Its not like the flagrant foul was implemented since the dawn of basketball. Thanks.

  • BostonBaller Posted: Jun.12 at 4:19 pm
You can’t use the Hulk b/c my man Perkins is already on the banks of Mississipppi catching catfish.

  • Allenp Posted: Jun.12 at 4:19 pm
Nothing about JR Smith makes me think that he’s a fighter. Nothing.
On the other hand, Nate the Great eats babies because they’re taller than him.

  • Canuck Posted: Jun.12 at 6:41 pm
Surprised at how many people think it’s absolutely outragous that a white/hispanic/whatever player could possibly beat up a black player.

  • BETCATS Posted: Jun.12 at 6:52 pm
This ‘article’ / write up wasnt written by a Laker fan at all. Me reading it, i could NOT not smell the purple and gold semen of Ryne Nelson all over it. Sense the sarcasm and savor the burn of my comment, Mista Nelson

  • JoeMaMa Posted: Jun.12 at 7:31 pm
Hey, Canuck. People have it twisted.
I just can’t imagine a ‘Pau’ beating a ‘Pietrus’. Pau is notoriously soft. Now, if it were MARC Gasol, that crazy HiSpaniard would go pollo loco on ‘im!!

  • Simmy Sosa Posted: Jun.12 at 10:37 pm
I would take a black dude who grew up in France over a Spaniard who grew up in…Spain. I’m guessing Pietrus had plenty of opportunities to fend for himself. Also, Pietrus is much faster and everyone knows speed kills…

  • Matul9 Posted: Jun.13 at 3:10 am
I think Gasol would have trouble with Pietrus….that is, until he tags Mr. DJ (Mbenga) in, who would then proceed to EAT Pietrus alive and then bash the entire Orlando Magic roster to the ground, before slugging it off with Dwight Howard in a brutal punch out that rattles the very foundation of the gym with each blow.

  • JLP Posted: Jun.13 at 5:01 am
Pietrus is just another non-talent. He’s also very stupid. He should know his place in the NBA. It’s in the basement. What a fool…

  • fredd Posted: Jun.13 at 6:11 am
i remember Parish hitting Laimbeer in the face not even a foul … sure it’s a different era, they try to control what is natural and at the same time they want a good game, it does not work.

  • H-DUB Posted: Jun.13 at 8:20 am
WTF ??? Pietrus got real mad and for this Stupid Action he should be suspended. How can Gasol get a call for this. Check the Slowmotion and just imagine that Pietrus could have done some real Damage to Gasols Back, while Gasol bein in Motion upwards you can easily crack something damn it ! This Foul reminds me of the one Stackhouse did when Shaq went up for a Dunk in 2006 Finals HEAT vs. MAVS. Stupid Ghetto Peaople…..let out your Anger on your Damn Kids if you want ( just kiddin of course )

  • K Posted: Jun.13 at 12:31 pm
Yes, Pietrus because the French are so well known for their toughness . . . gimme a break. They both lose.

You know, Kareem Abdul Jabbar liked to use his skyhook over actually taking the ball to the rim. He was soft as HELL. You think Pepe Le Pew could beat up him too?
I really am amazed by the low level of intelligence on this board. I’m going to start threatening to twitter soon.

about kobe’s elbow… it was intentianal.. he knew the double was coming, and he flung his elbow.
smart play by him. he does it while everyone else thinks its an accident. he’s pro. what do you expect.
and if mikkel, micheal, pietres really wanted to hurt gasol, i think he would.
i think he was mad because they were down, by like 8, with like 20 seconds left, no shot clock, and gasol went for a dunk.. unsportsmanship?

Umm Stackhouse took Shaq down AFTER Shaq had clobbered him on an earlier drive (no call). i LOVED the audacity of that Stack-Takedown (and it wasn’t a double fist pounding like Mickael’s)

Anybody that thinks JR Smith could take Nate Robinson must have missed the part of the brawl where JR steps to Nate and JR ends up on his back within seconds. There are definite reach advantages to being tall, but even in MMA there are also leverage advantages from being the shorter guy in the fight.
