Photos: Stephon Marbury x SLAM China

Starbury leads his team to the CBA Championship.

When Stephon Marbury led his Beijing Ducks to a 4-1 series win in the CBA finals—posting absurd averages of 33.4 points, 6.2 assists and 4 rebounds—we were hyped. So hyped, in fact, that we thought it was only right to give the always-dismissed Marbury some serious love during his time of triumph. That’s right, Showbiz is once again the face of SLAM, albeit in a different context. Shortly after winning the CBA ‘chip, Steph took these photos for a covershoot with SLAM China. It’s been a while, but don’t worry Starbury, we definitely see you. Congrats, Steph!

Did anyone notice on the cover of Slam China it says Dwyane Wade?

  • Jayygee

I don’t care that it’s in Chinese. I’d still cop this.

Umm, that is one nasty looking cover.
Wonder how the sales numbers were. Does Steph-love trump all or did the chinese look at this and say something like “Slam is a Olympic boxing mag now?”

I’m just curious, does SLAM China have a website that we can check?

I love that Steph is wearing New Balance on the inside photos. He’s been rocking NBs since our fifth anniversary issue cover (‘Money, Power, Respect’).

I wonder if Stephon Marbury could still ball in the NBA…Be that 3rd guard off the bench.

dude looks happy- and im happy for him as a longtime steph fan. he looked genuinely elated to win a title there. A couple years back the guy looked like he was on edge and close to cracking- it seems he s found a home for now- and a niche, and thats awesome.
