Janice Thomas looks right at home on the New York City blacktops that she used to dominate. A member of the short-lived WBL, the first women’s professional league to surface in the U.S. from ’78-81, the NYC native would have been a household name in the WBNA had her career not come two decades too early.—Adam Fleischer
