City of Brotherly Love representers Andre Iguodala and Meek Mill share their current thoughts on hoops and music.

As you may have picked up on in SLAM 148, we’ve kinda tweaked the Hype section of the magazine a little bit. One of those changes is the addition of “Hustle and Flow.” A section that pairs a young rapper and an NBAer who work out of the same city, “Hustle and Flow” taps into the “We want to be them and they want to be us” mindset. To start the section off we got up with Meek Mill and Andre Iguodala. Be sure to peep the next issue of the Mag, SLAM 149, for the next ill segment of “Hustle and Flow.”

    Didn’t The Source try to do this before and failed miserably?
    Kanye West, producer-wise, is one of the GOATS, in my opinion.
    As a rapper, he’s good but not great.
    Iggy grew up in Springfield, Illinois, which is in southern Illinois, and if you’re from Illinois you know the southern part of the state may as well be another state all its own, so not sure why he’s even speaking on Chicago music.
    For best from the Chi, yeah I’ll take Common.
    Two younger cats that are looking great as well are Knaledge and Astonish.
    And of course, Do or Die, Crucial Conflict, Twista, PsychoDrama, Snypaz, E.C. Illa, and Molemen are legends too.
    Also, Traxster and No ID on the producing tip.
