Every Heat fan just arched a quizzical eyebrow right now, but Shawn Marion is asking them to have faith: According to the Matrix, he will not let an unresolved contract situation affect his mood in any way, shape or form.
From the Sun-Sentinel:
“We’re still talking and negotiating, and it is what it is right now,” said the versatile forward, who will earn $17.8 million this season.
“Right now, my focus is on playing.”
Marion said all of the right things to the press during the promotional team event: He’ll play nice with Beasley, he’s excited to team up with Wade for a full season, etc.
While that’s all fine and well, can you really blame Heat fans, though, for taking a “we’ll see” approach to this, considering Marion’s history when he hasn’t felt totally appreciated by his employer?
