Tristan Thompson signed a five-year, $82 million deal to stay with the Cleveland Cavaliers last night, ending a long contract saga this summer. Around the League, reactions were mixedâranging from surprise to relief. Even NBA players themselves reacted, like Sacramento Kings big man DeMarcus Cousins, who tweeted the following:
How much??? đł

Okay, so we donât technically know if DMCâs tweet was about TTâs new deal. But itâs pretty safe to say thatâs what he was referring to.
Boogie signed a four-year deal worth more than $62 million in 2013, which means that Thompson will make about as much as Cousins until that deal is up. Which is, obviously, crazy. Of course, given the NBA salary cap movements of late, itâs not shocking. DMC will eventually get max money, youâd have to assume.
