Since getting back surgery in 2012, Dwight Howard has not looked like the player who dominated in Orlando and carried the Magic to a Finals appearance.
Howard has battled injuries since leaving Orlando, and missed 41 games over the 2014-15 season. But according to Dwight, his back ailments won’t be an issue in Atlanta.
From The Atlanta Journal-Constitution:
Will his health hold up, specifically a back that was surgically repaired in 2012 (he also missed 52 games in his first two seasons in Houston with a variety of ailments, mostly knee)?
“My back hasn’t been an issue, and I don’t think I’ll ever have an issue out of my back for the rest of my career,” he said without pause.
