Memphis Grizzlies starting point guard Mike Conley has suffered a lower back injury, and is expected to miss six weeks of action.
Conley, 29, was hurt in Monday night’s 104-85 loss to the visiting Charlotte Hornets.
Conley expected to miss 6 weeks with fractures in lower back. Will be reevaluated in a month. Conley suffered injury in Mon loss to Hornets.

My understanding is Conley's injury is similar to Dallas QB Tony Romo's. No surgery required but rest and recovery needed to heal fractures.

I'm told Grizzlies are confident Conley will recovery fully from the back injury. Grizzlies were scheduled to practice today in Toronto.

Per the Commercial Appeal:
“At that point you are only concerned about that guy’s health,” (Marc) Gasol said Monday night when asked about the moment Conley went down. “You just worry if he is OK or not.”
Conley received an inadvertent knee to the back. Conley laid flat on the court and grimaced in pain for several minutes before teammates helped him stand.
Conley reportedly experienced a paralyzing feeling for some time before he walked gingerly to the locker room with 8:25 left in the third quarter and the Griz down 61-48 on the scoreboard. He did not return to the game after amassing 14 points and five assists,
