Warriors Announce All-Female Broadcast In Honor Of Women’s Empowerment Month

The Golden State Warriors announced Thursday night that they’re planning an all-female broadcast in honor of Women’s Empowerment Month later this month.

The broadcast will take place on the 95.7 The Game radio station on Monday, March 29. The Warriors’ are scheduled to take on the Chicago Bulls that evening.

The three broadcasters to announce the game are longtime sports broadcasters and reporters Kate Scott, Mary Murphy and Kerith Burke.

Scott has been a featured announcer for the Pac-12 Network, NBC Sports and Stadium. She took part in the first-ever all-female NHL broadcast and was the first woman to announce an NFL game on the radio. She also serves as a host for 95.7 The Game’s, The Morning Roast.

Murphy is the former head coach of the University of Wisconsin Women’s Basketball team, spending eight years and taking the Badgers to their first-ever NCAA Tournament. Murphy also spent time as the head coach of Cal State Hayward and as head coach and general manager of the WNBA’s Sacramento Monarchs.

Burke is currently a reporter for NBC Sports Bay Area covering the Warriors. She has also spent time reporting on the University of Connecticut’s basketball program and the United State’s National Women’s Basketball Team.

This broadcast is a part of the Warriors’ efforts to celebrate Women’s Empowerment Month throughout March.
