Zion Williamson Out For 4-6 Weeks After Getting Injection on Foot Injury

All-Star forward Zion Williamson will be out for at least a month per the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday.

The Pelicans said in a statement that following a consultation and further evaluation from Dr. Richard Ferkel of the Southern California Orthopedic Institute on Wednesday, Williamson received a biologic injection into the fracture site to stimulate bone healing in his injured foot. He will be undergoing further imaging in four to six weeks and will be limited to low impact, partial weight-bearing activities for an undetermined amount of time as he recovers.

Williamson has yet to play this season after suffering a fractured foot injury over the summer that required surgery. Last season Williamson averaged 27.0 points, 7.2 boards, and 3.7 assists on the way to his first All-Star campaign.
