The Celtics have elected to shelf O’Neal and his creaky bones for a few days to rest his hamstring. The Boston Herald reports: “The Celtics center, who pulled his left hamstring towards the end of Friday’s practice, is not expected to play for the rest of the week, thus missing the Celtics’ first two games Wednesday in Manchester against the Sixers and Thursday in Newark against the Nets. ‘I was coming down with a rebound and started to turn when it happened,’ he said. ‘It’s funny, in all these years I’ve never had one of these.'”
