Amir Johnson Gets $34 Million from Toronto

by July 02, 2010

The Raptors are keeping Johnson at the price tag of $34 mil, over 4 years. Just … wow. From the Toronto Sun: “Amir Johnson will remain a Raptor. But he didn’t come cheap. The unrestricted free agent quickly agreed to remain with the club for five years on Thursday, when GM Bryan Colangelo gave him a five-year, $34-million US offer. Though the 23-year-old forward/centre averaged just 6.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game last season, he was one of the team’s hardest workers and best defensive players. Johnson meshed well with Andrea Bargnani since he did some of the dirty work and rebounding that Bargnani wasn’t willing, or able, to do.”
