Atlanta Hawks Targeting Danny Ferry for GM Job

The Atlanta Hawks confirmed that they are in talks with Danny Ferry about taking over their GM spot. From the AJC: The Hawks confirmed they are in discussions with Spurs vice president Danny Ferry about joining the team’s front office. In a statement released tonight, the Hawks said they have ‘reached out’ to Ferry and are engaged in conversations in regards to the team’s basketball operations. Hawks general manager Rick Sund’s contract expires Sunday. […] Hawks co-owners Michael Gearon Jr. and Bruce Levenson have declined to comment on Sund’s status. Their discussions with Ferry indicate Sund’s term as the team’s general manager will end after four years; he has expressed an interest in a part-time advisory role with the Hawks. Ferry, who played in 917 NBA games from 1990-91 to 2003-03, currently is the vice president of basketball operations for the Spurs. He was general manager for the Cavaliers from 2005 to 2010, where he was charged with building a roster around LeBron James.”
