Chris Bosh Not Bothered By Shaquille O’Neal’s Criticism

Chris Bosh has become something of a whipping boy for Shaq over the years — something that may get worse, now that O’Neal is a member of the media — but the Miami Heat forward claims it doesn’t bother him in the slightest. From the Sun-Sentinel: “Chris Bosh has been through this so many times that he just smiles. Yes, he gets it, that he’s not Shaquille O’Neal’s personification of elite, a star, perhaps even a man. The latest dig comes in O’Neal’s latest autobiography, the just-released ‘Shaq Uncut: My Story.’ Included in the retired center’s inspection of the Miami Heat, beyond the now-well-chronicled digs at Pat Riley, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James, are the latest volleys at Bosh. Now, as before, O’Neal stresses that the veteran power forward has achieved stardom without earning it, is more about numbers than winning, and ‘is not an elite player.’ Considering O’Neal previously had compared Bosh to a drag queen, as ‘the RuPaul of big men,’ Bosh hardly finds himself compelled to respond to the rehash. ‘I know the thing is entertainment,’ Bosh told the Sun Sentinel. ‘How are you going to get people to buy your book? So I don’t care about stuff that is said in the media or in books or pointed or directed toward somebody, because it’s really just a tactic and nothing else. He’s an author. He can write whatever he wants. If he sells a bunch, then congrats to him.'”
