Erik Spoelstra Wants Dominance from LeBron, Wade to ‘Be the Norm’

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade were magnificent in closing out the Indiana Pacers, and with Chris Bosh still not available, Miami Heat Erik Spoelstra expects his two megastars to remain dominant against the Boston Celtics, and then some. Per the Sun-Sentinel: “So what does Erik Spoelstra want after LeBron James and Dwyane Wade did it all in the final three games against Indiana? More of the same. As a matter of perspective, over those final three victories against the Pacers in the Eastern Conference semifinals, James averaged 32.7 points on 55-percent shooting, 11.3 rebounds and eight assists, while Wade averaged 33 points on 62-percent shooting, 7.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists. […] ‘What happened the last three games, that has to be the norm,’ Spoelstra said following Saturday’s practice. And then some. ‘But not only the norm,’ Spoelstra said. ‘What I told them today, as a team, we have to go to the next level. That won’t be enough for our ultimate goal and we understand that.’ […] ‘That’d be nice,’ Wade said with a grin. ‘That’s be real nice. I’d love to be there every night. That would be great.’ James would offer no guarantees of such gargantuan statistics. ‘I mean, we just have to see,’ he said. But he also appreciated Spoelstra’s prodding. ‘He said the right thing,’ James said. ‘He said the right thing to just keep us on our toes, let us know we can’t have a relaxed moment yet.'”
