Former NBA Ref Committed Suicide

Troy Raymond — fired by the NBA after reffing just one season, in 2003-’04 — was found dead last week, due to an apparently self-inflicted gun shot wound to the head. His wife’s body was found several hours prior to that. From the Times-Picayune: “According to the police report, Montgomery County (Texas) Precinct Three Constable’s officials found Leslie Anderson Raymond, 41, a New Orleans native, deceased at their home last Thursday at 2:08 p.m. The report stated there was no forced entry at the home in Spring, Texas, but the medical examiner determined her death to be a homicide caused by asphyxiation due to manual strangulation. Constable Tim Holified confirmed Troy Raymond, 46, was considered a person of interest in their investigation before his apparent suicide. ‘The investigation continues to be open and we’re currently trying to retrieve certain information related to cell phones tracking, identifying timelines for the time of her death,’ Holified said.”
