Joel Embiid Out Indefinitely With Left Knee Injury

The Philadelphia Sixers announced Monday that rookie center Joel Embiid is out indefinitely due to left knee swelling.

Embiid has missed 16 of the Sixers’ last 17 games.

The 22-year-old is also dealing with a minor meniscus tear.

Per the Philly Inquirer:

The 76ers announced Monday that Joel Embiid will be sidelined indefinitely due to his left knee injury. He still experiences swelling and soreness in the knee following practices. The center will have an MRI today.

 

Embiid has missed 13 consecutive games and 16 out of 17 after suffering a bone bruise Jan. 20. An MRI exam revealed that he also has a slightly torn meniscus. He was expected to return Friday against the Knicks at the Wells Fargo Center.
