John Wall to Dion Waiters: Start and Make the Playoffs Before Talking

The NBA regular season is still a month away, but already, a war of words is brewing between the young backcourts in Cleveland and Washington.

Bradley Beal opened the can of worms Monday by claiming that the Wizards have the best guard combo in the L, which Dion Waiters quickly shot down.

John Wall stuck up for his teammate Tuesday, and clowned Waiters for coming off the bench and not making the Playoffs. Kyrie Irving, please step up to the plate, sir.

Per the Washington Times:

Circle Friday, Nov. 21 on your calendar. […] That evening, the Washington Wizards and the Cleveland Cavaliers will play for the first time this season. And both teams’ backcourts will attempt to back up bold words that they’ve exchanged over the past two days.

“[The Cavaliers] haven’t seen a playoff game yet, so when they make one, they can start talking,” Wall said.

“If you’re going to be the best backcourt, you have to start,” Wall said. “This is the year [Waiters is] probably starting, so let’s see if they’re the best backcourt.”
