JR Smith: Knicks Have the Best Shooting Guard Mix in the NBA

New York Knicks guard (and self-proclaimed leader!) JR Smith is feeling good about having a clean slate coming into this season.

Smith is also extremely confident in the trio of shooting guards rocking Orange and Blue.

JR says no other team can match up with himself, Iman Shumpert and second-year man Tim Hardaway Jr.

Per the NY Post:

“We can hit people from three totally different angles,” said the 6-foot-6 Smith, whose non-basketball escapades last season (think Twitter and shoelaces) continually made the world an interesting place.

“I think there’s not a team in this league that has what we have at the shooting guard spot, and that’s very unique,” Smith said. “Some people look at it as ‘You’ve got to treat it as one or two of them.’ I don’t think you should look at it like that. I think you should look at it as a dynamic trio like people do with running backs in football.”

“That’s a good mindset to have, that’s a good step to take for J.R.,” Carmelo Anthony said. “I love to hear that he’s ready to take on that challenge and become more of a leader because at the end of the day … he is a leader. We look at J.R. as being a leader. So now he’s got to just put everything together and go out there and lead in his own different way.”
