The San Antonio Spurs fattened Kawhi Leonard’s bank account this summer, inking the star forward to a five-year, $90 million-plus max extension.

As one might expect, the famously-stoic Leonard says the new contract was in no way a cause for celebration.

The 24-year-old plans to hoop in the NBA for a long time, and has big ambitions for his career.

Per the Express-News:

So did Leonard celebrate the five-year, $94.3 million extension he signed this summer? Go on a wild spending spree, or take a lavish vacation? […] “No, not at all,” Leonard said on Monday when asked if he cut loose after inking his big deal.

Indeed, Leonard’s favorite part wasn’t the money, but the fact it ensures he’ll be an NBA player for at least five more years. […] “That’s what I’m most happy about,” he said. “I want to play 10 or more years in this league.”

“I feel comfortable in my game,” said Leonard, who averaged a career-high 16.5 points per game last season. “Everybody works on things in the offseson. For me this year, just being more aggressive so I can show what I worked on. I just want to be aggressive and help me team win games.”
