LeBron To Meet with Six Teams, Nets First

by Ryne Nelson

LeBron James is planning on meeting with six teams over the first three days of free agency as he attempts to achieve his championship aspirations.

Although the Bulls seem to be early favorites, the competition to win his services will be steep. James’ idol and mentor Jay-Z and billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov will make the first presentation to LeBron on July 1 in Ohio.

LeBron James is planning to invite six teams to meet him over the first three days of free agency, and rap mogul Jay-Z and Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov will be part of a New Jersey Nets contingent that will make the first presentation on July 1 in the Akron, Ohio, area, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

James and his advisors plan to have the Nets, New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers make presentations. Yahoo! Sports first reported on Thursday night that James would be taking appointments with teams on July 1 to begin his free-agency process.

LeBron wants to keep the focus on basketball and believes hosting teams in Ohio can prevent the recruitment process from turning into a spectacle. The Knicks planned to host James for a large dinner party catered by a celebrity chef in Manhattan.

James’ decision throws a wrench in his suitor’s plans to lure him to play for their city.
