Links: I’ll Be Back…

Sorry I had to go AWOL for a minute. It’s going to have to last a minute longer, too.

Got word really late Monday night that my grandfather had passed away. He was 93 years old and one of the greatest men I’ve ever known. He showed me the world and taught me about honor and respect, and I already miss him tremendously.

In the last eight months I’ve lost my grandmother, my mother-in-law and now my grandfather. Which really sucks.

I’m going to turn the comments off on this post — this isn’t about me or you or us, it’s about my grandfather. I appreciate any and all good wishes and will be back soon. (It just figures Billy Knight waits until now to resign.)

I’ll leave you with a quote from the brilliant Thomas Lynch

“The meaning of life is connected, inextricably, to the meaning of death; that mourning is a romance in reverse, and if you love, you grieve and there are no exceptions…and if death is regarded as an embarrasment or an inconvenience, if the dead are regarded as a nuisance from whom we seek a hurried riddance, then life and the living are in for like treatment.”
