Mark Cuban Not Worried About Lamar Odom’s Struggles

Lamar Odom’s struggles in Dallas have been well-publicized, and as the full picture of his mental state continues to crystalize, his new boss in Dallas tells the media that there’s nothing to worry about (despite Odom putting up career-low numbers across the board so far this season.) Per the Dallas Morning News: “Odom makes his return to Los Angeles on Monday, when the Mavericks play the Lakers. He’ll have an extended stay in his old stomping grounds because the Mavericks play the Clippers on Wednesday. ‘Lamar is not playing where Lamar would like to play, but he continues to contribute,’ Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said. ;He does things that you’re not going to get elsewhere and we’re winning, that’s all that matters. I think what people are going to overemphasize are individual game stats, which in this type of (condensed) season are not only misleading, but misrepresentative of contribution. I mean, all the traditional stats and things that teams use are worthless. Because you don’t want to play guys as many minutes, right? And playing against teams that have just played seven games in nine nights is a different scenario than playing a team coming off three days of rest.'”
